Do you not think though that nervous and edgy fans like yourself transmits itself to the players on the pitch making them nervous and edgy? I think anybody 'pissed off' like you say is barmy to be honest.
Very true, but Barnsley need to win or they are pretty much relegated. They'll put up more of a fight than Bristol did.
No. How is me being nervous (still happy, but nervous) going to affect the team? There was an interview with James Chester and he said 'it's just a game of football, I don't know what there is to be worried about because we've been doing it all our lives." Or something very similar. But he's right, the aspects of every game are the same, you just have to ignore the context, which clearly some players aren't doing. I can't help being nervous, it's part and parcel of being a passionate football fan; I didn't see a single person come away from the ground yesterday with a smile on their face saying "oh well", because they knew that we'd given Watford a chance. I think we've done enough over the season to go up and the lads have done superbly to get into the position they're in, but to draw 0-0 with a side that's bottom, crap and has only 3 away wins all season just isn't on and they're going to have to play much better to see the job through.
I have a feeling we'll play a lot lot better at Barnsley and win that game. Don't know why - I just think we got the jitters out the way yesterday and won't make the same mistake again. Ironically, being away with a decent following will probably be a benefit in getting rid of the nervous tension. Plus we'll have had eight days rest rather than three games in six days.
I can see a draw at Barnsley, but I cant see Watford getting anything at LESSter... not the way that boring **** sets up his team.
It's a common fallacy but how many we take and how noisy they are has **** all bearing on the result of a match. Would you rather 6000 screaming fans and get beat or 400 tiger suited flaskers, like at Huddersfield, and a one nil win??
Right now I can't see us winning at Barnsley and I can't see Watford losing at Leicester. If both games are drawn we're up, but otherwise we're going to either have to win or draw against the best team in the division (and like Bristol they won't have any pressure on them). Leeds could do us a favour but after today I think Watford will probably beat them comfortably. The odds are still just in our favour, but I think we're going to need a slice of luck too.
If anyone had offered us this position last August, we would all have bitten their hands off. We need to win 1 of our last 2 to win automatic promotion - and if Square head and the boys do the business on Friday night, we won't even need to do that. The way some people are going on you would think we had fallen away like Middlesborough and to a lesser degree Palace and Lesta.
just think of it this way... if we'd have been 3rd behind watford for months and just over taken them with 4 pt gap with 2 games to go we'd all have a hard on. I'm confident we will go up. I actually think we won't lose either of our two games. and I think it will be settled after lester game.
I think we'll beat barnsley and lester will draw at wtford. Lester are finding a little form right now and are stronger at home. barnsley 1-2 city lester 2-2 watford watford just smashed bLACKBURN let's not kid ourselves. Lester dominated palace and will dominate watford. Watford will set up for 1-0 win and that won't work v lester.
It was only 7 days ago that lowly Posh pissed on Watford. Then on Tuesday night they ****ed up again at Millwall.
I agree about the Leicester v Watford game, but on current form / tension and with Barnsley absolutely desperate I can't see us winning that one. If both games are drawn it'll be fantastic, but something tells me we're going to need something from Cardiff.
So when we get nervous we play with no composure or calm? When Barnsley get nervous they raise their game and play superbly? How odd. Lucky Barnsley.
Still in our hands, just need for SB to get the player's heads sorted (which I'm fully confident he will). Either way, expect Leicester to beat Watford on Friday night and for use to come good against Barnsley.
Probably why it was only one nil then! Disappointed in you clappers, you know we need a better goal difference.
I'm not saying that. Of course both teams will be under pressure and both will make mistakes, but Barnsley will be focussed only on winning (which is an advantage in pressure games) because any other result is useless to them. SB might go for all-out attack, but in the circumstances I doubt it and if the team are set up with the priority of getting a point the chances of winning are reduced. That's not to say we won't win. Maybe the quality of our players will be the deciding factor, but I'm just trying to be realistic. Also if Leicester do beat Watford on Friday I think we'll crush Barnsley. Edit; Sorry John my mistake. I meant to reply to this by City Agro: "So when we get nervous we play with no composure or calm? When Barnsley get nervous they raise their game and play superbly? How odd. Lucky Barnsley."
Barnsley could draw and quite easily stay up, a draw is certainly not the end of the world for Barnsley at all. No idea why you think a team who has 51 points after 44 games will handle pressure better than one who has 78 points after 44 games. They are at home but look how nervous we where at home. Our form is 3 wins and a draw from our last six which isn't as awful as some people are making out.
Read my last post again. I didn't say Barnsley will handle the pressure better. I said they will be more focussed on winning because they have to. A draw could be a good result for us, but Barnsley have to go for it.
