Even in early days of Schumacher there was still comedy. Who can forget his driveshaft falling off the in pits once. I mean how is that even possible?
yeah, pretty sure in Canada and France he did less than one lap combined! Ferrari clearly have major issues with Theo new spec engine. They've pretty much done a Honda with it. no more power, less reliable. someone's getting a horses head for making a horses ass of it.
So it's confirmed Gasly won't race in Austin. I wonder who they will put in. I was thinking it would be Buemi but he has some strong ties to Toyota which might complicate things.
He's also a Renault Formula E driver though? I can't see who else is a sensible option. Reading between the lines of some Marko quotes, I think Buemi is firmly in the picture. I think their issue is that his Toyota links might prevent him from driving a Toro Rosso-Honda. That implies they're considering him longer term though. A Kvyat-Gasly lineup hasn't been confirmed for 2018 yet, so they might want to test somebody less problematic. Having said those Toyota links are problematic, aren't Toyota quitting WEC? So I'm not sure what else Toyota would want him to race in. Some interesting comments from Rosberg (Kubica's manager) about him going for a one-off, basically they're not interested. Rosberg said that you're basically never going to look good in a one-off, particularly given Kubica's particular needs. Also, he has to pay back a large disability insurance pay out if he races in F1 again. He doesn't want to risk all that money for a one-off, if it might worsen his chances for 2018. The Williams seat (where apparently he's just had a good test) is his focus.
Redbull don't really have anyone behind Gasly and have said they won't necessarily use a redbull driver next year, I think it'll be Gasly and Kvyat personally, but if they don't then possibly Weirlein in exchange for a deal with Merc engines for RBR?
I think Mercedes value their engines more than developing a driver. Yes a Mercedes engine in another car can't possibly be as efficient as one in a Mercedes, but can you risk giving Red Bull an engine just a few tenths off?
According to Bild newspaper, Wolff also responded to Marko’s claim that only Red Bull has the “balls” to give F1 debuts to young drivers, “in contrast to Ferrari and Mercedes”. Wolff hit back: “Quite honestly, here at Mercedes we think with our heads rather than our balls.” lol..Funny
Just for fun...anyone ever noticed some radio message that have double meaning and when you think about them, they are quite funny? Lines like..... Someone just went into my rear....lol The pit wall could reply....Hey, where were your pants.. I hope you had protection....lol Oh..I just lost the car....lol Wouldn't it be funny if the pit wall answered back...Well, where did you put it down last? Maybe we should call the blood hound? Lol Box, box, box.... I didn't hear the bell, which round is this now I was going for the marbles and he hit me... Yeah, you tried to steal his marbles... Grojean...I have no brakes...then crashes into the wall Pit wall...You think you have enough breaks now...lol What are some of the double meaning lines you have heard over the years that you found quite funny? I have a problem, got some vibrations on this in lap Oh yeah? You either cold or nervous with excitement Can I attack Alonso now? Negative, he doesn't have expensive earrings
Dhel knows we all love him, really. The only one I'm really struggling with is the ear-rings. Keep working on it, dhel; but don't quit the day-job, OK?
