Good morning all - dull here and heavy rain forecast but surprisingly warm at 12º

Youngest daughter and partner arrived Monday, picking up eldest and baby today - others arriving at the weekend for Mrs L's birthday

Morning all, damp and dreary in eastern bandit country. Thank you to all who posted on the Fans Forum, I managed to get the gist of what was happening. Sounds like GT was on form and such a shame LB cried off sick, it would have been such a good chance for him to put across his side of things in his own voice.

Sounds like a great weekend Leo, got a similar gathering this weekend for my uncles 60th. 17 of us have hired a house near Taunton for a long weekend to celebrate the occasion.

Hope you have a great time too.

Morning all, A wonderful bright sunny morning here. There is still plenty of warmth in the sun. Waiting for my piano tuner to arrive. He might be here some time as the poor thing hasn't been tuned in four years.

I read that scaffolding has started to go up around the Red Lion. Could it be that Baz injured himself while putting it in place?

Have a good time all of you with family celebrations, I am still recovering from my three little grand daughters.

Hope you have a great week-end Lenny...

One bright spot of news - it seems that the Scum Town manager is up in front of the beak today in North Yorks charged with assaulting a steward at their game at York. I suppose the only surprising thing is he is the only one charged, normally the tramps operate in packs....if he gets convicted will he be banned from football grounds in the same way that a supporter would be if convicted of the same offence? Fingers crossed then....

morning all...almost finished listening to the Fans Forum..interesting listening for sure. Very impressed with SD. Very worried about how long GT will stick around though, sounds to me like he'll go when the opportunity arises.

Thanks for the coffee Ak :)

All the family do's sound lovely, enjoy!

Just a flying visit..off out for a walk in a min and strangely i managed to arrange another walk this afternoon...not sure how sensible that was! lol.

Anyway, see you later one and all...have a good afternoon if i don't see you before :)

    Afternoon all

Pale grey today, as opposed to Stygian gloom yesterday...

Cross trainer problem resolved...they will provide a new, upgraded model (costing £250 more than the original, now 18 months old), will assemble and install it and remove the one we have...all free of charge. Sometimes it pays to be persistent. All the phone calls and emails produced a good result in the end!

Afternoon all. The weather is dull and grey here, but at least it is dry so i can get my washing done. So for lunch its a steak slice with a glass of squash, then to finish a uni assignment. The family are all out today so its eerily quiet around here.

I see that even David Cameron and the rest of the House of Commons have weighed in on the Poppy debate. At this rate FIFA will have the entire nation on their back!! Even the Welsh have got involved apparently.

Should start a breakaway international super league and leave FIFA an international premier league <laugh>;)

I really do not understand the arguement with FIFA shirts with a poppy on it. FIFA has rules about showing various things on football shirts in games, so why has it taken so long for the FA and others to try and cause a fight? With FIFA having an Austrian as the top man you will never win.

As always Britain whinges about what foreigners tell them to do. The team are allowed to display a massive poppy on the pitch before the game, they are alllowed to have poppies on their tracksuits = they are allowed to have poppies on their strip in the warm up but must play the game without a poppy as it breaks rules we signed up to years ago and have always had no trouble with till this year.

What a bunch of whingeing poms we are.

I would love to see the Daily Mail and Sun's reaction if the rules were changed and then next time we play the Argentinians they wear blue poppies with Malvinas written on them.

So, my tweet to Sepp Blatter worked then? Great! :)

Now - I wonder if the players have to wear one, or can they opt out? <whistle>

Seeing as you are so successful with your tweeting BB, could you now start on Baz. Maybe you could find out how much longer his paymaster wants him as the front man. Was he instructed not to turn up in case in an unguarded moment he gave the whole game away?

I would like to see the press and media campaign that would ensue if one player opted out for reasons of conscience.

i know that's the theory, but i did have it on good authority that he was acting alone...when he first took over...oh, and i was told not to trust him...hmmm!
