Well you could argue that Iwelumo was a premiership player not that long ago and therefore he is worth more for it. however, talent wise im not so sure.

    We paid £50k for Iwelumo.

I reckon the club would reluctantly accept an £875k bid.

Come on mate, we all need to get over it. They arent top for nothing, and we all knew we would loose. Hell most of us predicted a thrashing, and thats what we got. We are not going to be promoted or fighting for a play off spot (there are too many strong teams), but we are not in the relegation places yet. We have some tough games this season but we have some games we can get something from. We can not mope over a defeat to a high class team, we have to hold our heads high.

Danny Graham has opened his premiership account with Swansea's second goal of the afternoon at home to Stoke.

    Afternoon all

My brother has arrived from Australia for a month in England (his first visit since 2000) and reckons today southern England is warmer than Adelaide. I'm not sure he quite grasps the appeal of Championship football yet, though he is already starting to make up for 11 years without English beer!

Looking on the bright side, at least we can be thankful for no visits from Northolt for a couple of weeks....

It is amazing how you can miss something like real ale. For some people it is a tin of HP baked beans or Cumberland sausages. There is a shop in town that makes a good living out of selling imported goods that some ex-pats find it difficult to live without. We can buy some cans of British ale at a price, but when I go over in 10 days time my first port of call will be a pub. ;)

Whilst we are on the rather enjoyable subject of beer - just a small plug that The West Herts Beer Festival will take place at on Nov 17th - 19th at West Herts Sports Club. It's Pompey at home that day, so 2 birds and all that....I will be tempted into the Cider Tent (or The Tent Of Death as it is now known!) to sample a few...fingers crossed that View attachment 7596 will be on the menu..

I am rather glad that it will be 10 days before I hit the south coast as it should give the pubs a chance to re-stock after some of you emptied the cellars. ;)
