It is strange how my local team here produce a result that is similar to Watfords the following day.

Tonight mid-table Chateauroux are away to top of the table Reims, and I suspect that they may be on to a battering.

I may or may not report on the result depending on how it goes.

OFH - I struggled to understand all of the article - but what has our egg chasing surfers got to do with Barnet FC? They are different grounds are they not?

I think that the history of this tale needs to be understood w_y. Barnet FC applied to convert Copthill into a football ground some years ago, but planning permission was refused. Sarries came along and wanted it as their new ground and the council went overboard to help them. Barnet asked what is the difference? Clearly it was a totally different scheme, but FC felt that they were getting pushed out. The council said that if FC didn't object to Sarries application then they would help them to find a new more suitable ground. Having kept quiet while the application was being talked about they are then told that no land is available for them. Now it seems as if the council are making it even more difficult to stay where they are by suggesting that they will not get a new license to carry on at Underhill.

It could therefore get to Jan.2013 and they will be unable to play at their ground anymore, and with the Vic being the nearest ground up to league standard there is the possibility of them approaching us.

Hope that makes some sense and there are other things such as land development around Underhill, but it starts to become even more speculative.

Glad that the Sudafed has helped, but can you take that and have a drink with everyone? <doh>

Enjoy the day and I hope the trains don't break down in the middle of nowhere. ;)

12 months ago West Ham were reported as being £100m in debt.

Today they have been trying to sign Tevez on loan.

Have I missed something? Did they win the Euro jackpot? <yikes>

    evening all

thanks for the link to the Barnet/Sarries artilce OFH

it never ceases to amaze me how short sighted councils are

I remember the Saturday I turned up at the Vic in the 80s and the match programme had the front page as 'we will appeal' - the club had just been turned down permission to rebuild the Shrodells stand on the basis of blighting the local area - totally bonkers

Barnet FC have put Barnet on the map - and they are constantly squeezed by the council
