starting relaxing last night and noticed blood down my german Sheps leg!! found out she was leaking out of her backside! ,No worries if she was on heat apart from the fact she has been snipped!! late night trip to thevets 30 miles away in a the middle of a storm! Turns out she had a very bad infection in both anal glands ,which the vet had to clean out ,not a nicejob ! 250 quid later with a groggy doggy back home and trying to stop her licking or scratching her backside ,feedding her antibiotics and applying haemaroid cream! the joys of doggy ownership!

 

I think it's a German Shepherd problem that! Few months ago ours had her right anal gland removed after a very serious course of anti-biotics and the infection coming back after two weeks. That and her hips = very expensive dog!

 

Yep your right Betty .......but she is my little puppy!!( five years old now and as bid as a small donkey !!) Sat here now making sure she doesnt lick and scratch it !

The vet did say it was the worst case she had seen for a while and that Erna must have a high pain threshold,which surprised Mrs N and I as she is the worlds most mardy dog!
