    Thanks guys. I have tried but it wont load in safe mode. I will see if it will load in normal mode. I shall return.

    Anti virus won't start I don't think. I shall try later though. I am defraging ATM.

    Well hopefully one of the suggestions works as i dont have £200+ for repairs or a new laptop.

    let's hope so..how's the defrag going? After the defrag you could try running the virus checker again

    I defraged it in normal mode, and am now running a quick virus scan and a detailed one side by side. It will leave no folder unchecked.

    Scans complete but nothing found. The Defrag did not work either. It still wont do anything. I will have to try in the morning.

    BHD.....I had similar problems with mine until Millens suggested cleaning the airvents underneath the laptop. The thing was overheating and closing down all on it's own. If the fan can be heard most of the time it could be that. Since I cleaned it all up there have been no problems at all, touch wood.
