Don't do games on it, occasional DVD and try and find a decent stream for the game on the net, which is few and far between these days! I will probably just update the Dell I have as it has been OK until recently!

Shouldn't cost anything to service/repair, thanks to insurance. I just want to do away with the tanks in the loft - seeing as I've just converted the loft into three bedrooms - as they are a bit noisy. But £4500 is a bit steep.

Got you , so money would be spent on relocating all the plumbing ,boilers etc! thats why your price seemed a little high:)

Yes - £2000 for the boiler & £2500 to fit it (move it 2 feet to the right into a cupboard!), get rid of old tanks etc.

If I was 20 years younger I'd retrain as a heating engineer <laugh>

Could not the old boiler be used to save a bit and the pipework extended a couple of feet , then box over the pipeline! or even chase them into the wall a bit!

No - it needs a different type of boiler to do the job I want done. A combi-boiler, which does away with the need for water tanks in the loft.

boiler is actually quite high up so I can bleed it and clean the pump in it when necessary! Our problem after excessive rain was water came in through the roof took out the lecky circuit that controls the water pump in the drainage system , thus water table rose and the pump failed !
Now with the roof fixed ....fingers crossed!

Just got kicked off the site and when I went to log on again, had to give username/password - that hasn't happened before :(

Also, the little blue buttons that tell you if there are any new, unread posts on each thread seem to have disappeared - anyone know how to turn them on again?

Afternoon all - still suffering a bit of Istanbul belly, so had to WFH today...Seems to be a lot of problems today, what with boilers and dead lap-tops - perhaps it is a sign?

BTW - Thanks for the coffee each morning AK, it was much appreciated whilst I was away...
