    That always helps :) christ the ball is swinging already at Trent Bridge , India won toss(again) and elected to field(again) ! Going to be a tough first session I think!

    Afternoon all.

    Weekend shopping done...fridge full and wine racks groaning under the weight. Went with cricket at something like 70-2 and returned to find it 124-8. Must avoid taking a short nap or might wake to find it's already over. So much for all the plaudits earned in the first test.

    Indeed except it was Mrs N that did the procurement , whilst I was stripping the old roof down! Sunny or dry days dont happen often ,have to make them count!

    Big night tonight, the start of the football has arrived again and my Friday evenings again have purpose. 8 pm and Chateauroux kick off with hope in their hearts that this will be a season to get them back into the top flight of French football.

    Founded in1885 they have managed just one season in Ligue 1 and you would be more than a youngster to remember when that was. Eleven players were let go in the summer and seven new ones have arrived. They also have a new manager who has a reasonable record.

    The ground is owned by the town council and holds 17500, but most weeks they only get 6-7,000.

    Tonight they kick off the season away to Guingamp. Only 10 mins to go until then. I will follow it on the live text. ;)
