Not good!! The old house flooded twice and nearly flooded a third time too. The first time was because the council had blocked the storm drain when they resurfaced the road and cut the grass there too. The second time the hot water tank burst in the loft and soaked through the ceiling whilst we were out. Then the third time it was sheer volume of rain but we managed to stop it getting in.

Maybe we should go for the indoor swimming pool option! Not rained too much in Bergen but round our way it has been torrential!

Still fighting them for the last time because the house is over 40 yrs old the dont want to cough up! Cost me to much to go legal so yet another repair job to do ! the rain gets in through the extension roof and takes out an electric circuit which used to feed the pump in the cellar! I changed the circuit the pump was on and bodged the roof best I could , the pump worked this time but the sheer volume of water overwhelmed it , so I may need to think about a new roof and aan additional pump!

Its a shame you attempted to fix it, could you not have sued the builders for shody work?? You should not have to go legal for claiming insurance, thats a joke!! You pay your premium therefore you should get the protection when things go wrong.
