W_Y I see your new picture. Does this mean you are now listening to some proper music and not the electronic music you were listening to.

    AK - AKA GK

I love The Ramones, but I also like Electronic and loads of other flavours as well.
I am just loading my CD collection onto my new iMac and I have just got to 90GB and still have a few old CD's to load...

    The God Apple hey!

These ipods are all very well, but my missus can't handle the capacity. When the 80Gb one first came out I bought one for her, once we'd loaded various CD's onto it and she'd signed up for vaious podcasts she was on the limit.

Waited around for the new 160Gb launch, and bang within a month she had that filled it with 7000 podcasts and some more music! She now has to delete various items before she can synch the thing! Then I did some maths - her desktop has a 250Gb hard drive and 160Gb of this is on her ipod ....... oh sh1t look she's only got 20Gb left!!! After a quick visit to RL in Moor Lane both our desktops now have an extra Tb and I've managed her files onto the new drive. My 160 ipod is fine as I have 23Gb left!

And I have another few hundred LP's to convert, I guess that's a sign of a misspent youth!! Mind you I haven't listened to all of them and I've had them at least 20 years (Tangerine Dream anyone?????)

How many CDs are 90gb? I have a lot but I do not think of them like that.

I have no Björk, Emiliana Torrini or Sigur Rós because they are not good.

Sometimes I wish I could turn the clock back!

You should see us at an airport - all gadged up, the kids playing on one or more of their devices and me and the missus in our own worlds ........ conversation, err what is that all about?

But seriously airports have got to be the worst place - all those hours waiting and then you are treated like cattle! And then there is car journeys - the ipod is always connected ..... and then we hear the children giggling to one of our adult comedy programmes! But they're not supposed to understand Sandi Thogsvik (sorry for the spelling).

21,000 audio tunes is 94Gb apparently (I've just had a look). I have to confess it is the way forward, a mate of mine has a classic car with a 7 inch turntable in the front. When the car came out, the average Beatles tune was a little over 2 minutes long!!!!

    lol she is funny though!

My son does slip his ipod on as soon as he gets the chance, but the girls don't bother, nor me or Mr H. Airports are for shopping surely! lol. Car journeys are apparently for sleeping through or listening to crap radio. If it was my car we could plug the ipod/walkman into the aux but with Mr H wanting to listen to Smooth and me and the kids on XFM, it's hard to use one ipod/walkman that everyone is happy with! lol

Oh yes, and what Apple completely ignores is people who have more than 1 device!

I had to fish around for a while and even people in Apple shope didn't know for a while, but the answer is here :

Each device needs a separate login connected to a machine (this is certainly true for MS Windows). So my desktop has 5 ID's. When I want to synch a device I need to close iTunes in my ID, switch to another ID and open iTunes in that ID. Transferring and sharing files is easy and straightforward, but its the synching which is the pain.

And then there is music copyright! We went away at Easter and the house we rented had a great CD library ....... how long did I spend loading the CD's onto my laptop? And then I can re-distribute the files and burn copies to CD as I wish. Err just don't tell the copyright police!!!

lol oh the minefield of copyright laws! Don't worry, my lips are sealed. We have 4 ipods in the house, so we have a similar problem, but thankfully daughter #1 has a laptop so she's in charge of her own, and Master H and Littlest H share a pc, so it's quite straight forward these days :)
