lol i did wear knee high socks! i was a late starter on the 'tights' thing, they were so uncomfortable, and because i was one of the girls who played football in the playground, they weren't that practical either! lol

Hear hear!! Did you see the complaint made by Serena that she had to play on court number 2?? She was implying that it was her god given right to play on center.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/tennis/13899869.stm

For that reason alone they should be made to play on court 18 the rest of the time!!!

I've always wondered if I could have made it into woman's football by doing the sane thing! ;)

I'm 45 and suffering from squash, football and running in the knees department. "Sport is good for you" well it might be true but we need to be careful and balance the impact and non impact. Trouble is those impact sports are such fun.

That is really interesting BHD. I think that we have all seen players at one time or another and think they could make it. Would it work? Possibly, but I don't know how the scouts could follow all of the suggestions up.

I hope that SD has a strong enough list of contacts before even entertaining the Twitter route! Not the way I would like to see us go that is for sure.

I agree with the book of contacts approach al, but from time to time a complete unknown such as Endean or Barnes comes to light.

This is true OFH, but are these types more accidental than anything else, just discovered rather than anything else?

Wouldn't mind a couple more like those two. I think that they came for donations to their clubs.

I think it would be a good idea , although you need to have a mechanism in place to sort the wheat from the chaff!

Yes, just look at the drivel that gets spouted on the Rumours website<yikes> Yes I know I copy and paste onto the Short news thread but I would hope the club does not have to resort to reading that trash to find players?
