Morning All, 26C forecast for this afternoon and no rain.

Off to Limoges to buy more bits and pieces for the decorating. You start something that you have been putting off for ages and then you realise why you have been putting it off.

I wonder if the escape committee will get any news out of the club today?

Some lessons + male instructor = failed
More lessons + female instructor = passed

Is there a message here do you think?

;)...there could be. I do get a lot of pupils come to me from other instructors, usually male, with all sorts of horror stories, but i also know a lot of amazingly good male instructors...jury is out ;)

My driving instructor was good and male; just me that failed first time. Second attempt was a horror story (hand brake exploded 15 minutes before the test and I got the strictest examiner in the area), still passed though. What was really good was the car - a Lancia Beta HPEi.

Wow though, great car! i doubt you'd get many of those with L plates on now ;)

My instructor had a Triumph dolomite but i took my test on my mum's Datsun 100A! Gawd i'm old lol

Luckily I took my test throught the RAF many moons ago, in fact it was when Charles and Di got married<yikes> I passed second attempt though, the examiner said it looked like i was doing the side foot shuffle with my foot hovering over the clutch and then to the side.

No he was deadly serious :( Did not think I did anything different second time round but they-ho. The best thing about learning to drive whilst in the RAF was that they made you do a night drive before you could leave! Which should be in the Civvy test IMHO!

There is so much inconsistency in examining..it's very frustrating.

Ah, well night driving is part of the Pass Plus, as is motorway driving...improvements, but it's not fool proof coz not everyone does Pass Plus.

It must be very frustrating for you, especially if they are not doing the Pass Plus part, obviously not compulsory?

I have to say that pass plus was one of the best choices i made. Especially as i have to drive 40miles on motorways to get to watford every other week, and have so many winding roads up here to navigate, and the night driving lesson was a god send.

Six lessons, male instructor, passed first time in a triumph 2000Estate which had a syncro problem in second gear and would jump out on the overun but I managed to hide that. I'm just a brilliant male driver, seriously these days though I'm questioning my own aggression as its getting out of hand, traveling to fast and fed up with slow drivers driving without due care and attention who then flash when I pass maybe in an unconventional manner. When I passed a couple of motorists who were doing 50 in a 60 (backroad) just because I travel past fast to avoid being on wrong side of road too long again get flashed. These old biddies in their Kias need to realise that a car with a 0-60 of 5 seconds and brakes the size of their wheels is a different beast and they're the dangerous idiots.grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Any hints on anger management on the road?

    Hi All,

Back from the city where the forecast temperature for this afternoon was 26C. Comfortable enough, but the forecast was wrong. It climbed up to 33C and the car was like an oven when we returned from the shops. Thank heavens for air con.

The A20 was busy today with Dutch snails pulling their holiday homes behind them. Without wishing to cast any bad remarks about those nationals, the locals reckon that they bring everything with them, so don't spend any money.

On the way back the Belgians were in their normal place in the outside lane, lights flashing at all of us lot keeping to the 130kmh speed limit.

I wonder if there are national traits when it comes to driving?
