Morning all :) Spasmodic sunshine here (is that a word? lol)...

welcome back Al and Yorkshire :)...Al, the KP saga rumbles on though it's been quiet in the last few days, but maybe that's just coz it's been a little hard to think about anything other than our now ex-Manager and that saga!

i'm off to a posh 50th birthday tea in some swanky hotel in London, getting a Limo there which will be lovely. Unfortunately we can't get the limo back because my daughters are in a showcase production at Her Majesty's Theatre, so it's back on the tube for us. Bit of a come down! (And with a strike imminent, it could be a rough ol' journey!)

Have to say Hornette that sounds like a lovely day! Have fun :)

Today, is sitting around and waiting for the weather to clear up. I bought my girlfriend a skydive for her 21st (wanted to get something a tad different) and it was meant to be today, but Lancaster is truly annoying and is not helping us one bit, so thats going to be fun!!

Yes, 'here' is a word - and sometimes it is spelt 'hear' <laugh>

Warm and sunny up here too - I'm off to get my hands dirty at our 'new' house. We asked for a new electricity meter to be installed and yesterday found out that the first two floors need re-wiring <steam>

Could have been worse I suppose - the new carpets were due to be laid tomorrow.......

    Morning all

Bright enough down here for the cricket to get under way but more rain tomorrow. Our village fete got heavily rained on yesterday which made for some intimate browsing under the stall covers.

I hope we are not back to "square one" - an old footballing term used by radio commentators:

    New chairman with dodgy credentials
Two of our best players gone
Manager with all his top club and scottish links gone
    Chief Exec left
    Board with little real power

    :(

Like you Yorkie, I missed the whole thing. I was lucky enough to be able to catch up a during the week but missed everything towards the end of the week and when I got back in the early hours of today it was all over :( Still onwards and upwards? I know this has probably been done to death but who do we all fancy to take over? KP as player / manager with the sage that is GT looking over his shoulder and SD still on the coaching staff!

makes you wonder how much the board/bassini knew about events unfolding...... and also about how bassini will work...

I would like to see us finish the season above Cardiff. If we have to finish in 23 position that is good.

For an unscrupulous type, the Bassini buyout is gilt edged.

    - Buy the club for next to nothing ($500,000 is nothing in football terms, lets face it).
    - Pay £10 million over 5 years = raise £2 million a year. That's TV money or a good young player, or even a good cup run.

Anything you make over and above that is gravy. Considering we've made basically £5 million so far between Malky, Buckley and Graham, and have probably got a nice fat wad coming in from Ashley Young, you've already created 60% of your liabilities that you gave yourself 5 years to pay back.

With Harefield being practically certain to continue churning out at least one or two good new players a year that will fetch a bit, paying back £10 million isn't that hard at all. The challenge lies in maintaining championship status so as to avoid the drop in earnings.

In the light of this, considering you've paid £500,000 for the club, it wouldn't be hard to make good on that investment in no time at all. Ultimately, you as the owner wouldn't need to make the club successful, or even maintain it's Championship status, to make some easy money. The club could go under while you, the owner, makes a nice tidy pile of cash.

I'm not trying to imply this is what Bassini is up to, but it isn't hard to see how it could be done. We're in the unfortunate position of hoping a non-fan has the club's best interests in mind.

This was found on wfc forum and has some credence to it IMO

Norway, Paris was great:) Wifey settling in nicely, her apartment is in a great location. You can actually see the Eiffel Tower from her lounge, even though it still takes half an hour to walk there:)
I do not think we shall go down, but we need some sort of stability from now on though a strong voice in the Boardroom (come on GT). I woud rather they appoint some one sooner rather than later though to ensure we are active in the transfer market!
