    Do say a final goodbye for me folks to the old nest..... was probably the best place on 606... along with the match threads, prediction threads etc.... will miss the old smilies, the annoying modders and the spammers and wummers.....

    Have a good week... I shall be back next weekend.

    <ok>

    Have a good time Hornette!

    Haven't decided whether to watch the Champions League yet. As a matter of course I avoid European games, and the Stevenage Wimbledon game is the only one I've watched on ITV in a very long time. But Barca and United do play some of the most attractive stuff in Europe, so I'm torn.

    What has really got my goat though, is that ITV are going to run spot ads during the game. For F1 I can tolerate that. You can't predict accidents, but generally you know when not much is about to happen. For football it's unforgiveable, especially given that we're talking about the same morons responsible for this:

    Hi all - the 606 nest is becoming a great party location - at least for the next few days. I reckon the plug will be puled at the end of Tuesday 31st

    This happened in Oz years ago (West Ham vs Fulham final) - the channel repeatedly showed the same ad every 10 minutes or so and consequently missed both goals. I directed my anger to the company in the ad (a motel chain and local pub) - rang them up and told them they had lost my patronage - I would neither be staying at any of their motels nor drinking at their pub again because of the ad. Have stuck to my word too.

    Perhaps a similar action should be orchestrated after tonight's game - may hit ITV where it hurts in future.

    I have a sinking feeling that they will be hit where it hurts, because this will prompt more people to watch next year's final on Sky.

    Being the lover of Murdoch that I am, that prospect naturally makes me cockahoot.

    Should be a good night Norway - he comes from Baghdad central but supports Leicester, but there will be loads of the filth there...so will have to be on my best behaviour and Mrs W_Y will keep me in check - she knows loads of them anyway as many of their kids went to her nursery school...
