Confusing!! Guilty on two counts but no penalty imposed - why bother in the first place? Why bother having rules at all?

Simple BB QPR had the better legal team! If they had been cast into the play offs , there would have been litigation every which way ,and it wouldnt have been sorted for months!!!! I t will be interesting to see if a fine will be imposed and how much? The FA have lost a lot of face here (again) !

Points deduction was always going to cause a lot of trouble - no surprise at the decision then

A points deduction would be seen as the fair punishment. Especially when Luton got docked points for a similar scenario.

However, QPR have had an outstanding season and more than deserve the title as champions. But what is the point in having "laws" and "rules" if they are not punishable when these laws and rules are exploited?

I agree BBW - there seems to be no rhyme nor reason to punishments - no consistency. However due to the timing it would have caused chaos to deduct points around this weekend.

The poll showed though an overwhleming feeling for either a very stiff fine or 15 point penalty

I feel kind of deflated after this afternoon , 37 points thrown away off winning positions is terrible
One thing for Next season is to try to get a better closure rate!!!
On a positive note we have been the cleanest team in the league only collecting 51 cards in the season 2 red and 49 yellow!
Fair play award to us then!

If Watford had been QPR we would have been punished when the case was discovered in September and the punishment would have been so big we would have been relegated.

I think that the whole QPR thing shows up the farcical state in which the game is governed. This situation would not have happened if there were set penalties for certain offences. Play an ineligible player in the FA Cup and you get expelled. Simple straight forward and everyone knows what will happen. Play an ineligible player in the league and take away the points gained whenever he has played. Once again no argument. Deal with an unauthorized agent, 10 point penalty and so on. An appeal could take place, but if found to be unjust a further penalty.

If such a system were in place I believe that clubs would make certain that they obeyed the rules, because while it seems that there is one set of rules for some and different rules for others, some will think that it is a chance worth taking.

Just no consistency in the punishments and they are lacking balls

Watford lack a defence - 71 goals conceded - we need to get two new full backs and either Loach has to come out of his doldrums or we have to think hard about our keeper position.

    Have to agree French.

I wanted a massive fine, but by massive I'm talking about the sort of money that would negate their promotion unless they managed to stay up.

Bearing in mind that the offence really happened last season, and 15 points would have relegated QPR last season, it's not only Swansea who have a case, but Leeds too. And if the owner of Leeds United whose name I daren't mention believes that he has a case, I suspect he'll pursue it.
