Shame we could not all have got together for a few glasses - need to agree a plan for 1 or 2 games next season. As soon as the fixtures come out, let's put a plan together...I fancy Brighton away, but it's easy for me....I am happy to start the plan.

Norway - Brighton is great for Gatwick, just a couple of stops on the Bedpan line...I will be on it as well and little Miss W_Y can come over from Uni.

As soon as the fixtures come out, I will start a thread to gather interest in a couple of options...hopefully we can get a lot of Nesties together for a big bash...

Night all, I am off to the land of counterpane...

Morning Lenny - I have just got back from B&Q, so been up and about. One of #2 sons mates is supposed to be laying the slabs for my shed base this morning - guess what, it has started to piss down!

Just going to the butchers to get some supplies...

Certainly a great loss to the world of golf. A truely charismatic person.

View attachment 2660 Entering into this discussion a bit late but thought I'd pass on the benefit of my experience!

Frenchie's statement about snakes being more frightened of humans is only partially true - in Oz at least. During mating season the opposite applies & it is best to give them an extremely wide berth (not stand there ogling or taking photos, frenchie!)

How do I know this? A good few years ago, I worked for the Qld. Forestry Commission and spent some time working in isolated bush for 2-3 weeks at a time - by isolated, I mean 100 miles from the nearest road, 200 miles or so from the nearest 'village', 500 miles from the nearest town with a hospital.

On one such trip, I made the mistake of thinking that an eastern brown snake was more frightened of me than I was of it - got too close and found a) that it wasn't and b) it was a lot faster than me. Managed to get bitten on the leg & nearly died from worry, never mind venom. As venomous snakes go it's only ranked around 13th in the world but without first aid you can still only expect to survive for about an hour.

Over the years since then, I've encountered quite a few snakes in my home/in my garden but have never stopped to ask "are you venomous?", "is this your mating season?" or "can I take your photo?". If in the home, I'd simply take the family out and call for a snake handler to remove it. If in my garden, I'd kill it.
