I love this - just seen on the news that a jury have reached the verdict that the victims of 7/7 were killed unlawfully

Oh really - I thought that being blown up by a terrorist was perfectly legal - it does surprise me.

Our lawyers certainly know how to take in the cash don't they?

    Afternoon all,

First week at my new job is drawing to a close!! It's been really good.

Had an awful moment though today...

I brought my own mug into work on Wednesday, so I could have tea out of a familiar mug. I wasn't too sure if mugs were kept anywhere in the kitchen, so I put it in my draw. I always thought this was a bit weird, having a mug in my draw. Also, at the end of the day, I would walk all the way to the kitchen (at the other end of the building), wash the mug and walk back to my desk to put it in my draw. This made me feel a little uncomfortable, particularly when I walked past someone, with an empty mug, as if I just like to walk around with empty beverage containers.

I was making a cup of tea yesterday and someone said, "that's a very orange mug. Not much chance of anyone using that by accident!". I thought to myself, "this is true. Being a Pantone branded mug, it is a characteristic block orange colour. His statement also implies that there is a public area for everyone to store their own personal mugs which means I don't need to transport it from my desk to the kitchen all the time, and look like a mentalist who keeps his belongs separate from everyone incase of transfer of infection. Due to the bright nature of the mug, it also means there is less of a chance of someone using it."

So, at the end of the day yesterday, I took my mug to the kitchen to wash it. Instead of the usual action of then transporting the mug back to my desk to be stowed away in the draw, I decided to locate this communal storage area. After opening each cupboard, I found an area that had a variety of mis-matching mugs which was obviously where my mug should also be stored. At last, I was beginning to fit in with everyone with my mug nestled between "Worlds Best Dad" and "My Wife Went to London and All I Got Was This Lowsy Mug" novelty mugs.

I went to the kitchen this morning to make my usual morning cup of tea. I opened the cupboard to pick out my mug…

I am currently drinking tea from a mug, emblazoned with a corporate logo of an organisation that once had dealings with my employer. Anyone could have used this mug. ANYONE.

I am now stuck in a bit of a predicament. Do I risk my social status and send out an email to everyone, asking for my beloved mug back and tarnish my already tarnished state of mentality (due to walking around the building iwith empty mugs), or do I wait till the end of the day and pray someone puts it back in the cupboard?!

Needless to say, if and when I do get it back, it is going straigt back in the draw in my desk. Call me a mentalist.

Forgot to mention that quality scooter may well be auctioned soon with half the proceeds going to the club! The bikes owner was a top bloke who has been a season ticket holder for many years!!

BBW... my daughter gave me a left handers mug..... i.e. if you drink it with the right hand the tea streams out through a small hole all over you.. works...no one else uses it

but of course I sometimes drink with my right hand <doh>

I think in honour of the week-end, I will make an early start - a nice strong & spicey Bloody Mary is called for!

Lovely afternoon in Bandit Country - I am tempted to wander over to one of my locals and sit outside a have a few, trouble is the scummers won last night and the inbreds will be jabbering on about it....so I might stay in and sample a few!
