Morning all, seems strange no work for 2 Fridays in a row without being sick or on holiday. This is the second of 3 long weekends in succession for those of us in the Channel Islands as we have Liberation Day on 9th May. I know the Occupation by the Germans in WWII was hard on the island but I think they've gone a bit OTT in the small area of St Helier near where I live as we have Liberation Square, La Route de la Liberation, Liberation Station (where all the bus routes start from) and, next to that, the new shopping and eating area on the site of the old abbatoir is Liberty Wharf.

 

Morning all - Hornette I had the same problems last night and gave up in the end.
Safe journey Norway and looking forward to a cracking couple of days....

Time to crack on, there are carrots, cucumber and celery sticks to be cut into exact little soldiers for eating with the dips - then back off to Costco to pick up the sandwiches, wraps and very large birthday cake...

 

Norway, you've missed the end of that line - when teddy bears have their picnic.

Hornette - hope the walk went well. My eldest has to do some walking in training for his Duke of Edinburgh bronze award hike, but not as much as you. He "forgot" last weekend.

Nice and peaceful for now - my teenage sons are still in bed.

 

jsybaz - I have been watching some documentaries and a series about the occupation on the History Channel (now called Yesterday). I really had no idea just what a harsh regime was put in place and it is not something even mentioned when I did history at school - good to see that TV can show you these things after all these years.

Morning All, I gave up on the site last night also. It just wouldn't load.

Mme is going to watch the TV this morning. When asked if she would look at the Beeb or TF she said both. I think she is going to channel hop. No, not the Channel.
