It is my belief that drills and plumbing do not fit well with each other. Maybe he will get things fixed and want to join in your dinner. <laugh>

Well at the moment it is taking itself down - but as it houses my water pumping and filtration I need to take it down slightly more carefully than have it collapse -and als o have to re-build it around the pumping system.

Odds please on me either electrocuting myself or drowning myself - or a combination of both?

Enough sunshine out there for me to consider assembling the barbeque we bought a couple of weeks ago. Hope the instructions are not in Japanese!

hornethologist - You're late!! Barbecue season started aaaaaaages ago!! I got the barbecue out about 3 weeks ago so I could do pork belly. Opened the lid and was met by a pungent odour similar to Rik Waller's pants after a brisk walk. I had forgotten to clean it out after the 2010 barbecue season!! It was disgusting.

I closed the lid, wheeled it back into the shed, and put the pork belly in the oven (notice how I have cleverly worded this to sound like I do the cooking. As soon as it was obvious that the barbecue was out of action, the responsibility fell to my girlfriend who took the pork belly from me, and placed it in the oven. The only form of cooking I and every other man on this planet can take responsibility for is food stuffs with the letter "BBQ" written on it). Needless to say the barbecue has now been sterilised and chemically cleaned. Did think the chicken I cooked on it a few weeks ago tasted a bit like Cif...

On the subject of instructions in a foreign language, I recently purchased a portable projector screen for work. I bought this product based on the reviews on Amazon. Almost everyone said it was worth buying due to the instructions. Couldn't give a damn about functionality and build quality. Below are some example of said instructions:

    • Don't let your hand poke inside of the framework of brace when open or close the screen in order to get hurt.

    • Avoid to using it in the vehement wind in order that getting hurt while the screen downward.

    • Subtle alloy hall, can be taken more convenient.

    • It can stops in any position when pull on it, don't need to use other indigenous object, can choose any height rely on the requirement.

    • The intermission in the middle of upper level is the normal phenomenon which can increase the resilience when extend or lessen it. Please avoid to folding the screen for fear that the pucker..

When I lived in Britain you only got the barbie out when you wanted rain, Shed dismantling was beating Chelsea, and plumbers arrived days late. How things change.

I'll have you know that I am a fair cook - I was baking sausage rolls whilst listening to us play the dirties on Saturday. Over 80 home made Pork, Cheese and grain-mustard beauties are nestling in the freezer for the 29th....Sandy is your man for BBQ instructions - that's Sandy Hornet and not the suspect one from Round The Horne....

Hornette, I hope your pipes are fixed and good luck with Pesach.

Will you be serving haroset, gefilte fisch, matzo ball soup, sweet brisket or any of the other proscribed or traditional dishes?

The barbeque is assembled...only 67 separate diagrammatic instructions! No Japanese but some of the pictures drawn by Mr Magoo. Still, it's ready to go...even if a bit late in the season for the likes of BBW...and will make its debut tomorrow with minted lamb and a nice Pinot Noir to wash it down.
