oh yeah, and BBW - I'm not really old, and sadly I don't count as young in any surveys

first game I saw was home to Southend, at the end of the 77/78 season, 1-1

one other thing, what a shame the learning centre is closing - nothing to do with the club, but a pity anyway

%activity, it is magic. No one knows. That is an algorithm of computer usage.

NZ you must not think like that. You aree early for the next discussion.

Ísland women beat South Africa 5-1 yesterday in ice hockey.

I still think that the Sarries thing stinks a bit...was not too difficult to see that there was no way that Barnet would be ready. But Wray is no mug, he will have had a plan - perhaps he is the mystery backer with the £7M...??:emoticon-0107-sweat

i'm a University lecturer. In my 20s I said that I would write my doctorate on a South Pacific island provided someone paid me to do it. Many years later an NZ university was prepared to do just that. They gave me a job afterwards, too!

NZ were you sitting on a Pacific island beach writing your thesis or was your doctorate about a South Pacific Island...or was it both?

All this talk of age makes me feel mine - or, in reality, perhaps it's the rigours of a day spent herding 32 ten year-olds!

My wife and I have always lived in relatively small country areas - can't stand the thought of living in a big town (anything over 3000!). Never thought of trying France either - can't speak the lingo for a start.

Did fancy NZ many years ago but their love of rugby put me off. I actually played against the Junior All Blacks - only lasted 40 minutes, but 40 minutes of the worst pain & torture imaginable, then swore off ever going there as I didn't fancy experiencing that every week.

I vaguely remember reading about England winning the World Cup - but was there in person the next year when they 'lost it' to Scotland <whistle> By the sounds of it, I'm slightly older tham Leo - probably in the same class at school!

NZ..I enjoy reading about how the world takes people and gives them opportunities that they grab with both hands, or ignore and regret for evermore. I know that when we had the chance to make a different life in France it had to be taken, or I would have sat in England wondering what might have been. Certainly as you get older you might become more adverse to risk taking, but from what I see there are many out here prepared to give it a good go. A recent survey showed that 70% of ex-pats had no intention of returning to the UK, with a further 20% saying that they might return if their circumstances changed. It was also interesting that approximately 25% of people who did go back, returned to France within 12 months.

Wow, we must have the most diverse, interesting fans on this forum!!

Bolton's Boots - I too, at the grand ol' age of 24 have got well and truly feed up with life in a heavily populated area!! I am so glad that I will no longer be working in Central London. Now I will be working in Watford, it gives me and my girlfriend the opportunity to move somewhere a bit more rural. I hate the pace of life in Watford and London. Everyone is in a rush and in a mood. Nobody is willing to help out or go the extra mile.

As for me, I am starting a career as a writer, me and my girlfriend got our first house over a year ago (the thought of the mortgage is just depressing) and we are getting married in February!! Everything is planning out well for a promising future...

Northolt_ QPR. One side says people make mistakes.

The other says well done and congratulations. You have responsibilities now and must behave properly.

BBW - I think it may happen to just about everyone in their lives, usually when they are a little older admittedly. In your case, doing it so early, you may run the risk of having to move back in 15 years or so - teenagers are so unreasonable and easily bored <laugh>

I know what you mean about the pace of life down there - it's horrific. We are perfectly happy in our little old fishing village - the cosy harbourside pub helps too with its regular barrel of Fullers LP. And when it's off, the Houston's Killellen is a perfectly acceptable substitute.

Hmm - it must be View attachment 1682

Doing my tour of 606 there is another forum board being pushed. Been to investigate and it is nearly as bad as extra-time, new-606 is its name. :emoticon-0119-puke:
