Thought as much, the silence is deafening
it's all looking a bit daft at the mo...gotta say. What with us pulling out of the Heaton signing, and no word about a manager, even though we have an assistant, though not officially...it all seems a bit topsy turvy!
Having asked the question about famous people you have met earlier today, I have been troubled to think about just who I have come across.
There were various players and managers at Watford in the 1950s, but the only really famous person at the time, 1963, was the then Prime Minister, Sir Alec Douglas- Home. Although he was generally mocked by the press, he was one of the most pleasent people you could ever meet. A good listener, he made you feel that he had an interest in what you were saying.
There is no doubt that some of you must have mingled in different circles to me, and it poses another question, if you could select five other people to join you for dinner, who would they be?

Five for dinner: Dr Johnson; Oscar Wilde; George Bernard Shaw; Mark Twain; James Thurber...you wouldn't be able to eat for laughing...
or failing that: Helen of Troy; Cleopatra; Nell Gwynn; Emma Hamilton; Mme de Pompadour...there'd be plenty to look at if the conversation stuttered..
I can see your choices would be great Theo, but are you saying that there are no living persons to share with?
After some reflection I seem vaguely optimistic, but aren't 'orns fans that anyway. Lets see how the Italian loaners go on. Shame about Dyche but he will surely find a job - is as good as if not better than hoofroyd. Wonder if season ticket numbers go up on this basis.

Yorks,your 2nd choice could just be a little tongue in cheek, so will counter with suggestion that Ms Mitchell perhaps not too serious a suggestion either,think she should have made a Boring Twins Voice album wiv Carly Simon(how DARE she have the same name as Paul of actual talent?).

My memory was completely wrong about the person from Norway but pie did get to meet Bear Grylls when he came to Jersey.
One person I saw here but didn't actually meet was Nigel Mansell when my Mum was over here and we went to the place we usually go for dinner once during every visit she makes. He was leaving just as we sat down. The way the tables are arranged, I saw him but Mum didn't.
My 5 would be Sir Richard Attenborough, Stephen Fry, Nelson Mandela, Kylie Minogue OBE and Professor Stephen Hawking. Although I do feel that I should include Professor Sir Magdi Yacoub who performed my heart operation at Harefield when I was 3 months old. (At the time, I was one of the youngest to have heart surgery and there's a photo of me in the Daily Express at a party at Harefield one Christmas - 73 or 74 - my Great Aunt had the picture and they got my age wrong)
No, not at all, there are plenty of bad female "actors". Angelina Jolie, Scarlett Johansson, Keira Knightley, Jennifer Aniston, Kristen Stewart, Tea Leoni, Jessica Alba & Sadie Frost come to mind immediately.
Some of them do have mitigating characteristics though.......
