Came across this and wondered why some at Watford liked him and didn't mind the stiff necks. Boothroyd's career win record Watford - Won 65 of 176 (29%) Colchester - Won 19 of 44 (43%) Coventry - Won 12 of 39 (31%) Northampton - Won 36 of 100 (36%)
Got us up to the prem OFH, as I am sure you are well aware, but maybe for this reason many people regard him more highly than his win record suggests (remember we got stuffed in the Prem with him too, might bring the averages dwon...)
Boothroyd stats are interesting but without knowing how many games were drawn I don't suppose it's the full picture. Given also that for every winner there's a loser I suppose there must be plenty of managers with a lower % of wins.
As Mexico States, the numbers are skewed by our time in The Prem. If you just took his time in The Championship they would look quite different.
First of all, I'm not sure how the French do Maths, but 65 is 36.9% of 176, not 29% - shame on you ofh. As w-y mentioned, his stats are skewed by our terrible Premiership season. Take those figures out of the equation and his win record becomes 55 out of 130 - a somewhat healthier 42.3%. Even better reading would be his 'Did Not Lose' stat. Overall 116 out of 176 - or 65.9% Championship 91 out of 130 - or 70% Beats me why we got rid of him really....
Sæl öll. Cappuccino, coffee, tea, donuts and fruit are on the bar. Glögg for all. Today could be the best day for Ãsland football and we stat early.
"First of all, I'm not sure how the French do Maths, but 65 is 36.9% of 176, not 29% - shame on you ofh. " Oh dear, teach me to cut and paste without checking it out. Actually the French kids are taught long division in a different way to English ones. My granddaughter showed me how, but think I will stick to the way I was taught.
How very odd Vic. Click on the original link I posted and up it comes, but click on attachment 27718 and I get access denied. Seems as if only Mods are allowed to see it. Don't understand why it has changed the link number.
Having a day off work today to use up holiday, pretty dull day but pottered in the garden prior to visit to osteopath for a bone crunch. England match tonight. Mrs C has woman flu and feeling sorry for herself after trip to Campbeltown, nice to have her back. Might go and see Gravity if she is up to it. Have a good w/e all.
