Morning all, good sunny start to the day again as yesterday. The autumn colours are becoming quite spectacular now, yet we still have roses in bloom. :)

Public holiday again tomorrow, with events at just about every memorial in the country. Even the large stores only open for a couple of hours to let people buy their bread. Lots of people go back to their ancestral home to be with family, so we have people in the village today who have travelled down from Paris.

I now have a sixth water butt to install down the far field. Think I will put on my high visibility jacket before I venture down there as there is gun-fire coming from that direction. A couple of weeks ago it was reported in the local press that during a chasse someone had shot his brother by accident. Seems as if the brother will be alright as he only was only hit in the legs. <yikes>

Morning all from a beautiful morning in bandit country. Lovely day for one of the most special days of the year. We will be attending our local rememberence service in our village at 12.30.

I hope Lenny amd his wife are keeping well.

Many thanks to my all-time favourite name Tongan Rugby League player, Fuifui Moimoi, for leading Tonga to victory over Italy. That means Scotland qualify for the WC quarter finals. <ok>

Mind you, it also means they will be in line for a right royal pasting by New Zealand. :(

Morning all from a dark, overcast Weston-super-Mare! Supposed to stay dry today, I think I'll reserve judgement!

    Have a good day! <ok>

Morning all from a damp and grey West West London - it poured with rain all night in bandit country.

I doubt we'll get near enough for a field goal. :(

Morning all, lovely sunny morning here, but a bit of a nip in the air. Need a few dry days to help the green lane I use become passable without the wellies.

Mrs S's best friend from New York came for the weekend - this happens every few years - so it was a mega yakathon but the chat was good. When not talking she was eating and I threw in the towel after Sunday lunch at the new local eatery, couldn't keep up. The woman went through 7 diet cokes over the w/e and that's all she seems to drink other than a bit of water. Frosty & sunny weather which made for good walks into town and back both days. She loves the BBC too - full of intelligent programmes! Also watched an off the wall film called Moonrise Kingdom. A nice chilled w/e and the prospect of a return visit to their new house in New England.

    Afternoon all

Tempted to complain about the weather but after the lunchtime news from the Phillipines it seems very unimportant. My nephew's wife is from there and we're hoping all her family are safe.

Thanks Norway. Did I read on twitter a while back that you were about to undergo the same op?
