No good asking me, I rarely know what day of the week it is unless the dustmen come round as they did today. It does not help either when Saturdays come round and Watford are not playing.

I have neighbours who get up with the sun and go to bed when it gets dark. They are very well rested at this time of year, but have very long days in summer. Saves on heating and lighting they say. Similar days in some respects to the stone age men in Scotland who devised that calendar, except that the family here have a car, and if it gets very cold they spend a morning in Le Clerc which is well heated. ;)

Morning all from a dry and mild West West London - although it pissed down all night in bandit country. No doubt there will be a hose-pipe ban introduced soon!

Thanks in advance for the frothy AK...

    And so you should be...<laugh>

Recovery is slower than I thought it would be - in spite of exercising four times a day, there is still an odd mix of pain, swelling, stiffness and numbness, none of which is eased by medication. All a matter of time I suppose. At least I've ditched the crutches and am now down to one walking stick - stairs, inclines and gutters are still a challenge though. :(

Morning all, 17°C here this morning with clouds scudding across the sky at a rapid pace. Supposed to stay dry though which will make a change. Glad there is progress BB. I still get twinges in the ankle a year on, but looking back can see how improvements do happen.

Received my questions from the club yesterday on how I thought they could improve my match day experience. Have suggested a shuttle helicopter between rural France and the pitch, but doubt that they will follow it up. :(

Others are saying that they want things speeded up in the bar at half time. Maybe something like this would help.

Sun shining and bright blue sky here, wouldn't think it was November.

Think I'll go out in the garden and get a tan.

By the way Dave, too much caramel latte is bad for the feathers.

Hello all from a wet Jersey. Had a good week in England last week (Saturday excluded). Saw the HHT FA Cup tie v Sutton - fantastic game but Sutton should have been down to 10 men early in the second half as their defender who committed the foul for the second penalty was the last man but the ref bottled it and didn't even issue a yellow.

A week ago I went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in the West End - as it was the matinee we came back at rush hour but all credit to both my boys and my 9 year old niece who didn't moan once about the crowded train. Took my 6 year old nephew to the game on Saturday and (un)luckily had seats near the front so my nephew had a good view. Despite the result he liked going to the game, so he wants to go again. Luckily, my sister knows someone who goes regularly who she is going to ask if he can take my nephew and when I'm over again I'll take him with me.

Flight back on Sunday was delayed due to this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-jersey-24799619 The fire engines from the airport had to go to the incident, so the airport was closed until they returned. Also, it was a bumpy flight back but I found that more fun but youngest was relieved when we got back to the island.

Watching the racing and AP McCoy has got to 4000 winners at last.

Also, I found out while I was away that my uncle had an operation (keyhole surgery) to remove some floating cartilage in his knee and has arthritis in both knees so, like BB, he's walking with the help of a stick at the moment.

Morning all - another chilly one up here...

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24751351

The FA must simply view these incidents as a licence to print money.

"...called into question the integrity of the match referee, and/or implied that the match referee was motivated by bias; and/or brought the game into disrepute."

What nonsense - he simply told the truth, that the referee made a huge mistake - one that could have costly repercussions, and one that is becoming all to prevalent in the game. Yet the FA do nothing but hand out fines. It wouldn't be so bad if some, preferably all, of that 'income' trickled down to help at grass roots level where it is desperately needed.
