Bolton which coastal village along the firth is best for a weekend retreat? Hopefully will move a wee bit further North before year end and would like a little cottage and boat somewhere within forty minutes so anywhere from Inverness to the Broch.
My wife and I are quite taken by Garmouth and Kingston, near Spey Bay, as well as Portnockie which is further east near Cullen. Garmouth and Kingston would give you easier access to Aberdeen as you can pick up the A96 at Fochabers. I wouldn't particularly recommend anywhere between Macduff & the Broch - access in winter is very often a problem as the main road (A98) loops inland away from the coast & the coastal road is 'not the best'.
I'd just like to apologise to anyone who managed to stream our game against Doncaster today ... although fair play to Kasper Schmeichel who did his best to put a smile on the face of every football fan with his future Rude Tube sporting gaffs classic ...
I don't think many on this board were trying to see that game as we were more intent on getting Hornet Player to work.

FF, hope Kasper has another howler on November 2nd, especially as it'll be in front of the Sky cameras and I'll be there, taking my nephew to his first game. Afternoon all, this morning I did the 3k fun run that goes alongside the Jersey Marathon - had to walk some of it as my asthma decided to join in. Got a nice shiny medal for finishing though. jerzeypie is a marshal for the main event and is still on the West side of the island - he should be back here in about an hour and a half as he has to stay until the roads are officially opened again, which is about 3.
Update: just had a phone call from jerzeypie and he's just waiting for the coach to bring him back to St. Helier.
Evening all - another fine day in bandit country. Been a busy boy as well, session at the gym, cut the grass, cleaned the rabbit out, put away more garden furniture, made lunch and knocked up a quick excel table and graph for Mrs W_Y - funny that I don't feel at all tired. Just been checking on train prices for Boro away - best price is £52 each!
