evening all! Sorry (as ever!)...my flipping internet is on the blinking blink again...or maybe it's my laptop, i'm not sure. Not sure how to check either, so i'm just frustrated, coz BT say my internet is fine, so i'm guessing now it might be the lappie, which is a bit of a problem!

    Hmm, anyway, hi! lol

100 % agree with this. I never expected to see such a discussion on a football forum.

I have to say that having worked for 5 years in an environment where there was a signifcant Brazilian presence (among 48 other countries as well) I tend to agree with a lot of what you say. I think if you mix with diffedrent groups of people for long enough you do get an insight into the national psyche thouygh it is, as you took great pains to point out, important to acknowledge that some of this will be a generalisation.

With that in mind I really would not be surprised if Mr Miranda knew exactly what he was doing and wanted to be stopped in order to start a media snowstorm about the whole thing. It suits his agenda and that of the Guardian to do so. Here's a thing - I reckon pretty much all of us with nothing to hide would be "happy" for the Police to search our belongings if it meant we would be exhonerated - why did he start screaming immediately for his possessions to be returned untouched? Hmmmm..... Unfortunately for the UK it's not the best timing as the sabre rattling in South America over the Falklands is already loud enough and Spain is helping to fuel it with the escalation in the dispute over Gibraltar. Brazil needs no second onvitation to up the ante even more......

Morning all, off to the Brittany coast tomorrow for a short break so need to sort the car out which is beginning to look like a rubbish tip. :( Will be missing the game Sunday, but hope to have some internet access at the hotel. ;)

That was the whole point behind the starting up of The Nest Scully, so that we could have a debate about any topic that was raised. If it get's too big and people feel inclined, then a separate specific thread is suggested and the contributors move to there to carry on. As OFH says, it's usually conducted very well - of course sometimes people can get a bit carried away, but generally it works well.

Morning all from a hot and humid bandit country - will be an interesting day at The Oval and the weather looks to be set fair and should favour batting (well that is what they said on the radio), but who knows with England. Eldest son is there today and I am there tomorrow with Little Miss W_Y and then on Sunday, the whole W_Y crew will be there - well apart from 'er indoors!

Just got my "free" ticket from Watford for the cup game - nearly confused me as it's for the seat next to mine!

    Enjoy Al. <ok>

I had two daughters living just up the road from you a year ago. One now lives twenty minutes from me over here, and the other one is holidaying in Brittany at present.

It must seem very quiet down there. <laugh>

Looks as if the beer sales will be quite exceptional at the Test Match tomorrow. Just seen your weather forecast. <yikes> The number of days I spent at Edgebaston watching the rain fall is painful. Mind you the cricket from England today was very painful.

Just about to go to the airport to get the plane to Gatwick. It's either raining here at the moment or rained during the night and what I can hear is water dripping off buildings - I'll find out when I go outside. I'll be at the game tomorrow - seat JJ66 in the Rookery. Probably won't be on here again before I get back to the island Monday evening, so a (hopefully, very) good weekend to you all.

Belated greetings from an overcast, very muggy Weston-super-Mare! Overslept this morning, always gives me a headache when I sleep too long, so please don't shout your replies! :(

    Have a good day!

    Morning Dave...I'm whispering.
    :emoticon-0113-sleep
    Very damp down here.

I wouldn't mind a bit of oversleeping myself,,,I rarely seem to get more than 4 hours at the moment. I'm always pleasantly surprised when I sleep through till 6. If I was granted a superpower I think it would be a sleep on/off button...
