I spoke with Little Ak on friday from work and afterwards no telephone. The telephone company say the fault is on their wires and will fix the error by tuesday. I saw my new neighbour and he said the telephone company had a man doing a repair in the local box. I think he repaired one and messed another. I have no telephone or internet, my neighbour in the adjacent house has the same as we called him and there was no wire connection, Little Aks friend 200m away has telephone and internet and my new neighbour has internet and no telephone. So no football this last few days. Everything needed to be looked at from work this morning.

Another grey morning with no rain. This is regular now.

And a good result from saturday.

Morning All, seems the weather is going to improve again this week. Thanks for the coffee Ak, seems this is a common fault around the World, telephone engineers sort out one problem causing another for somebody else, we had a similar problem when our new neighbours moved in.

I worry for Cologne Hornet having taken on the Watford Prediction League. Others have done the task (which I am very grateful too) only to later disappear into a void and would hate this to happen to Cologne. :emoticon-0104-surpr

Talking of long lost friends has anybody here heard anything from Luther or Leo or of them?

The bloke is a complete dick. However, those of us that were at Goodison Park for the first game of the season in 2006 will have some sympathy with his views on Premiership refs. Blatant penalty for us turned down and, guess what, ball hits Chris Powell's head (yes head) and it's given as handball and a penalty for Everton.

Not sure we got a single contentious decision all that season, like 1999-2000.

Well he know's his team are going to finish bottom this season, so I suppose he has to find some way to deflect the blame away from himself. Could have found something a bit more original than ref's decisions though!

Good morning to everyone btw!! :D

Don't forget to tip on the future postings thread if you're going to be away for any length of time Yorkie ! Where are you going in India ? - I spent about 18 months there in the north (Dehradun - Uttar Pradesh) working in a hospital about 25 years ago. Have been several times since.

No immediate plans for disappearing into the void Charlie. I didn't actually want to do it but we were a little bit in limbo with uncertainty over Leo. I haven't heard anything from Leo and hope that everything is o.k. I've got no problems doing the WPL for this year but doing it on a regular basis I'm not sure about - I would much rather just tip results like last year. Maybe it could be rotated in some way at some stage between 2 or 3 people ? Just a thought.

Those two decisions still rankle with me (not that I hold a grudge you understand!) - as well as the offside-but-clearly-onside disallowed 'winner' of Ashley Young against Spurs. :(

And wasn't that the season that David Seaman got away with blatantly hauling down one of our players (Priskin?) in the box at The Vic, and we went on to lose 1-2?

Lots of different conversations going on at the same time, here.
This is for the India visitors. I am going to Pondicherry in February. Has anyone been there? Does anyone have any suggestions about the place?

    <ok>

I stayed in Hardwar in 1972 ... have since travelled to and worked in India/Nepal/Bhutan/Tibet. My highspot was a year in Bhutan.

This time I am taking a group of student volunteers to Bhopal for voluntary work. Will be my 4th visit to Bhopal (site of union carbide factory disaster)

Not been to Pondicherry. I have seen tv programmes about it and it is very beautiful..... the buildings etc. You also have Auroville near by which is the famous ashram of the sage Aurobindo. Otherwise, I am envious. South India/ Sri Lanka is on my list of places to go.
Life of Pi was filmed there:

South Indian food is hot and spicy : Fish curries; masala dosa etc

    Enjoy :)

The sky is more grey than yesterday. The weather office says 5C and rain but is dry so far today.

Our news is the unemployment total has gone down by 61 people Men have 161 fewer people and women 100 more. That is near to 13000 not working and 175000 who have a job. Also Eyjafjalljökull had a bigger effect on airplane travel than 9/11.
