Morning all from a very changeable bandit country - it was bright and sunny first thing, but now it is lashing it down. Leaving for Kent just after lunch as I have my big sisters Ruby anniversary party tomorrow, I know another game missed! We are staying at this little "boutique B&B" where our room has it's own courtyard! - so we are taking a double of bottles of France's finest and some olives and stuff to sit out and enjoy the sea air!
Just ordered our Reading tickets, so all back to normal from next week!

Ye gods - why was it void? Did the fine print specifically rule out spiked drinks?

Bloody insurance companies - it's reached the stage where you need to take out a policy to cover you against refusal to pay out... <grr>

Travel Insurance companies usually exclude "injuries sustained whilst under the influence"....so for youngsters out on a party holiday it means that are virtually not covered for anything! I suppose falling off a sun-bed might be covered, but I doubt most will ever see the sun!

No. 2 son has gone to a festival near Winchester this week-end - lot's on mini-festivals with different types of music. Apparently fancy dress is required for some nights - he has acquired a fancy dress Suit of Armour which he will be wearing along with a Frog Head Mask.......I cannot wait to see the pictures!

Isn't it normal for the policyholder to take reasonable precautions to prevent a situation arising that may give rise to a claim? For example the theft of personal possessions from a car would not be covered if the car was unlocked at the time of the theft. So, if you are in a place where there is a possibility of drinks being spiked, then the normal precaution is not to leave your drink unattended at any time or to leave it with a trusted friend. This might not happen if the policy holder has had too much to drink, but then most travel policies have an exclusion cause that prevents a claim in these circumstances. Maybe one of these two scenarios happened,so if it did then I cannot share your frustration in this case.
When I go away, I always spend half an hour or so familiarising myself with the travel policy T and C's. I don't think many people read the policy untill they want to make a claim, by which time it is too late.

Morning all from a bright, sunny and sometimes cloudy Kent. Great WiFi in our boutique B & B, so just passing a few minutes whilst Mrs W_Y prepares herself...
Let's hope the football is better than the cricket - you are excused a comment BB!

They move Warner up to open with Rogers - he's just been bowled by Broad for 3.

How the hell is that not out???? Hawkeye shows it pitched in-line impact was in line and the wickets were umpires call which was out!! Surely it doesn't matter whether we appealed for caught behind or LBW!!

Dan, it is called Decision Review System and the decision that Chris Rogers was having reviewed was that he was caught behind. He didn't hit the ball, so he wasn't out.

    Morning/Afternoon all,

My least favourite job is plumbing, so a certain degree of dread came over me when I found that the water heater tucked away under the kitchen sink had died on Thursday. :( It has done a good job over the past eight years, but it had finished it's time of heating on this planet.

Yesterday I had a day in the car trying to find a company that had one the same as I didn't wish to change the pipework. If I had had my internet I could have done a search and found the nearest town that had one, but instead I finished up driving around 250 miles.

Never mind, it is in now and working in plenty of time for the match. I can sit and listen to Jon Marks without being asked if I should be doing something. ;)

Looking at Accrington v Pompey. Stanley have Aldred and Webber in their starting line-up and Mingoia on the bench and Pompey have David Connolly.

Six goals, one hat-trick and Luton lost.

Why hat trick for three goals, I never understand this?
