Morning all, looks like another warm dry day, so watering will be the first thing on the list of jobs.

Not much around in the way of football news that I can find, although it does look as if the Posh will be getting their ground sorted after an agreement with the council. End of the terrace is about to happen, somewhere that many fans used to enjoy at London Road.

Morning ofh. Watering is the last thing we need to do here after last night - bloody rain flooded our bathroom. <grr> When the current plumbing was installed, way back when, the waste pipe from shower/basin in the bathroom was connected to the downpipe from the gutter, meaning that, if the downpipe blocks, we can't use the bathroom. At 2:30 this morning, my son found the bathroom flooding because the bloody thing had blocked and water was pouring up through the shower - took us an hour and a half to mop it all up, then I had to go out and unblock the pipe - by which time it had started pouring with rain again.:headbang:

To make matters worse - this is the second time in six weeks that it had happened. The last time, the water poured through into the kitchen beneath & ruined the ceiling. I had then arranged with a plumber to fit a new pipe from the bathroom to run separately from the downpipe & then a builder to replace the kitchen ceiling. The plumber was due to come Monday but couldn't make it, the builder came yesterday and we decided to take the punt and he started replacing the ceiling - plasterboard up yesterday and was coming back today to plaster over it..... <wah>

    Morning all

Mrs H and I both woke up very early this morning and decided on an early breakfast an a walk around the lanes, setting out around about 7.15 am. It proved very pleasant...quiet, a light breeze, and good exercise before getting back for coffee. It's left a nice long morning for writing (26,000 words done now). Watering will be an evening job here...despite the forecasted thunder storms we haven't had a spot of rain and the sun's out again today.

Sorry to read about your tale of woe BB. There are some very curious plumbing arrangements, where they exist at all, in rural parts of this country. An English couple who own a holiday home here quite frequently find lizards that have drowned in their toilet. Seemingly the creatures fall down the rainwater downpipe, then take the wrong pipe in their attempt to find the way back. Last year we all had our plumbing arrangements examined, a total waste of time because the commune's disposal system is not up to required standards. I received notice that I should tell anyone looking to buy the house that this was the case. They also intend to re-examine systems in about 8 years time, more like 10-12 I was told, so nobody is doing anything until the council get their bit sorted.

    oh nooo......

    not good eh...

we had a builder put a velux in when we were away..... and her replastered but lazily hadn't repainted...... all leaked in the thunderstorm on Monday and he cam and said some flashing was missing.... lucky on retrospect that the painting hadn't been done...

Morning all, a bit of cloud overhead today and temperature not expected to rise above 30°C.

There is even a forecast that we might see a shower tonight. I don't think I will hold my breath.
