This was written in The Times SEASON'S HIGHLIGHTS It has been the year when Gareth Bale elevated himself to the post of third best player in the world and when Bradford City's run to the Capital One Cup final reinvigorated that competition. It was impossible not to be inspired by the sight of Wigan totally out-thinking Manchester City in the FA Cup Final or impressed by Rafael Benitez doing so well in such trying circumstances at Chelsea. The tributes paid by Manchester United and football in general-to Sir Alex Ferguson were heartfelt and touching, too. but the undisputed highlight of the season has to be what happened at Brentford and Watford. After all those two teams went through to miss out on automatic promotion, the drama as they made it to the play-off finals was incredible.
Many thanks for the Latte AK. Any chance of putting a large bottle of Asbach in it please? Just to warm the cockles you understand
Evening all from a very dodgy WiFi connection that comes and goes at will. Suppose I shouldn't expect much as it is free. Cannot get my phone to work with it at all. Sorry to read about Leo and BBs woes. Really do hope that things can be sorted out. The Med is very blue as always. Before I first saw it 20 odd years ago I thought that the pictures were done up to make it that colour. It really is blue though, and this afternoon there were white sailed boats gently going along on the breeze showing up the colour even more. Seems as if the south of France is filling up with foriegners, but with my car having registration plates of the country and a steering wheel on the correct side, no one seems to know where we come from. Found a very nice little bar today right alongside a beach. All of the street names were in Catalan and it sounded as if that was the language being used by some in there. It certainly wasn't French as I know it. Trying to keep up with WFC news in odd moments when we are not out and about and the internet can be connected to. Better see if it will let me post this.
That coast is a wonderful part of the world OFH - when the kids were little and Mrs W_Y was not working we used to get the Cantabrica coach down to just across the border in Spain for our jolidays. Beautiful coast and lively little towns - had some great time down there. I got to love on the best Larger's about - Estrella from the Damm brewery whilst holidaying there. Good to see it's starting to be sold in Blighty now - the West Herts club is selling it. Have a great time and hope you find a more reliable WiFi Hot-Spot
I quite liked the Russian entry. Shame they didnt do better. But I think next year we have to use some new talent, not these old has-beens.
