Morning all, sun blazing down and a fine day is forecast.

Mme Magot, a very elderly widow has returned to the hamlet after her winter stay with the family in Paris. Her husband died a few years ago, when in his nineties, after a day perched on a ladder picking cherries. She lives in the largest house here, so it makes sense for her to avoid heating the place up during the cold period. There are a lot of properties in France that seem to spend months shuttered, then as the weather improves the doors and windows are flung open, and you see bedding being hung out of windows to air.

Must get on now, yet another busy day ahead.

Wow, rather you than me! I had an encounter with a psychotherapist once that didn't end well for him! I felt guilty afterwards, it really wasn't his fault but I let him have it with both barrels! <yikes>

Hospital visit this morning - the medication Mrs L is now on can damage the heart and as she has already had a heart attack they are fairly nervous so arranged another scan - so that was the morning gone - not that it is nice here but drizzling.

Finally finished moving - both boys were brilliant with helping - hope they're not too tired and end up falling asleep in lessons.

Hope all went okay Leonardo, and that they can change the meds pdq.

Well done on the move Barry..if you're kids are anything like mine, they won't bother sleeping in lessons, they'll come home and crash on the sofa (if it's out the boxes ;) )

Unfortunately there are only two drugs they have for Mrs L's type of cancer and the first one failed after 8 months last year so this is the only treatment available. It just has a number of side effects (- her hair is turning silver rather than dropping out) and the potential damage to the heart is another. Crossed fingers she does not get affected too badly with it - she does have a thing called a stent to help so we are hopeful - the scan was called MUGA scan which sounds like something out of a comic book heroes thing :) YOur heart on this thing is supposed to pump at at least 50% of some measure and hers last time was at 39% so not good but not awful - we will see in due course how it is performing now

H, they're only with me at weekends, so if they do try and crash on the sofa, their mum will probably try and wake them to do their homework or jobs round the house. If they won't co-operate, she'll probably then phone me, blame me and shout at me very loudly. :(

Stent has done its job for the four years since the heart attack so seems good - done at Harefield where they were superb and some - and she is not experiencing any breathlessness etc which are contra- indicators so we are pretty hopeful - end of medical for today :)

I have made my interview and my ear hurts. One hour and one half is a long time to talk and listen to the telephone.
