How very strange the law system is. You start a case, then discover that a witness is unable to show up because of work on a sheep farm in Oz. The case had been put off several times already, so why actually start it this time? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-21704142
My late dad, who all his life regularly attended classical concerts, listened to Radio 3, and dismally failed to learn to play the trumpet swore there was no merit in any kind of popular music. Yet whenever I hear Kid Ory, Chris Barber, Acker Bilk or Kenny Ball mentioned it always makes me smile. He loved them but was always extremely reluctant to admit it. Once we were old enough to have the cash, we used to buy him their EPs for Christmas...partly to remind him he wouldn't let us listen to Radio Luxembourg!
Afternoon all, what a miserable wet day it is in bandit country. Can't wait for the weekend and hopefully a good game and some favourable results form the others around us. I'm still hopeful of going to another home game before the end of the season and the Leeds game looks like my best chance. One child is away on that day at a Rainbow sleepover, and the other may be shipped off to grandmas for the day/night. Leaving me and Mrs Sandy to enjoy the weekend alone, and Mrs Sandy foolishly commented that maybe she should come to the game with me. I accepted her request immediately and I think she is now regretting it as I am determined to get her along now (plus it means I can definitely watch the match this way). So keep your fingers crossed everyone that I complete my mission!!!
The pedant in me makes me take the Beeb to task here over their poor terminology - there's no such thing as a sheep farm in Australia. We know them as sheep stations.
Góðan daginn öll. Glögg, donuts and fruit are on the bar. I have to work today. This morning really. I think you would say "KERR-CHING!!", Wayne Campbell would. My insurance is to be paid for my Volvo next month and the company who organise for me now want from me an arrangement charge of 10% added extra above the fee they have from the insurance house. I will find a new company.
Morning all, lovely morning here, just right to attack another of my bramble patches. Glad to say that the Bordeaux has been restocked, last Tuesday evening it suffered a bit. I see that our Lloyd has been called up by Jamaica for an international. Think that on this seasons showing he deserves it.
Morning all from a damp and dull bandit country - just off to The Vic. I am feeling a bit confident this morning...very unusual for me COYH
I decided to attack my ancient fuschia bush this morning - I'm sure it was planted at the same time as our house was built (1813) - as it had grown to around 10 feet high. I only lasted half an hour - fingers were stiff & blue with cold. Not sure what to make of Doyley's call up. Great news for him on a personal front, but it means that he and Nos will both be involved in the Jamaica v Costa Rica match just two days before we play Burnley. An important fixture in which we will be without two important fixtures in the team. And if Sweden decide to call up Ekstrand that week........
Wow, that must be some fuschia bush - can't be too many hard frosts round your parts BB, otherwise the top growth would be killed off each year. Where I am in the country - considerably further south I'm sure - I could not get even the hardiest fuschia bush above 3 or 4 feet each year, then I have to cut it back after the winter.
It is - and there are! We've only been in the house for two years, but have had two rather harsh winters in that time. After last winter, I pruned it back from around 4 feet & it just thrived - I even had to cut it back during the summer but that didn't stop it. All I can put it down to is positioning - we have gas central heating & the bush is about 6 feet away from the outlet pipe.
The BBC just posted this: Ben Dirs at Aviva Stadium, BBC Sport "It is horrible at the Aviva - windy, mizzly, exactly how you'd design the weather to be were you planning the worst game of rugby ever." They really need to start checking the names of people that message in....
right, off out...not going to be the best company..might just have to sink a good rioja! See you later one and all, have a good evening
