Well busy morning up and out in the garden by 9am, first grass cutting of the Spring and a general tidying up of the garden! Then 2 cars washed, inside for a bit of hoovering, then even had time to cut my hair, shower then a bit of lunch chicken omlette. Now going to make some meals for the next couple of days as I am back to work tomorrow:(

Looking at the forecast for tomorrow evening, it's going to be warmer at the match than it is in Jersey at this moment, which is just as well as I'm going tomorrow night. As I'm off tomorrow and Wednesday, it's been one of those days where I either find something small to do or finish off things left over from last week.

We have a similar situation Yorkie. I buy all these fancy nut and fat mixes and put them in these little feeders and the only birds it attracts are big fat Wood Pigeons and the biggest Crows you have ever seen - even the Starling's stay away <yikes>

    Must be bandit country...

Our last two houses have been in brand new estates and we hardly get any birds visiting our back garden, I always put food out for our little feathered friends but the bird feeder remains full :(When we lived on other side of Gloucester we had birds of all types coming in and eating all the different food we put out but that house was far more established and we had trees at the end of the back garden which always helped attract! My wife does question why I can continue with the bird food, but I will still try and feed them.

What on earth was happening with this site this evening? Server cannot be found, and when I did manage to make a comment it disappeared into thin air.

We have got some more chooks. The food we give them attracts all sorts of other birds. The last time we had chooks the chooks themselves attracted a hawk which we saw swoop down and carry away one of the chickens. Not a pretty sight.

Wish i had your skill Al - nothing I do will stop the birds coming here! Living on the coast, we get flipping seagulls nesting on the roof at this time of year - squawking & crapping everywhere day and night. And when their eggs hatch, they up the ante and dive bomb anyone brave enough to walk down the street - a bit much when you live two doors away from a primary school. <grr>

Am thinking of taking up falconry.

Phew, what a weekend that was. I think I'm only just recovering!! Friday played on the nerves a lot. To let in that last min goal just shows that we are not quite the finished article and judging by the reports from London Colney GZ realises that. Then Saturday I met up with a friend in Cambridge for the day and went to see Les Mis again :), which meant a 7:30 start on a Saturday. I know it's not that early but it is not the norm so was a shock. Then Sunday was the best Sunday for a while, I went to see a local wrestling show in St Neots called Southside presents Battle of the Egos 3. This was amazing!!! We were in the front row and I had taken a couple of signs to antagonise the bad characters and a sign for the ring announcer. At the start the announcer came out and complimented me on my sign. Then the bad guy came out and started ranting. Then when he saw y sign he invited me into the ring for a picture with "my idol" and I obliged*. It was a great night, I succeeded in winding them up and got a picture in the ring. It was a mad, loud and awesome night, I also won two free tickets to the show of my choice, so will be going again in June.

Sales of netting rocketed here a couple of years ago when the bird flu was about. All of the chicken runs had to have a 'roof' of the stuff.
