Morning all from a frosty bandit country. Strange weather at the moment as it was lashing with rain last night and getting milder and now it's freezing again!

Thanks for the frothy AK, mush appreciated.

I see John Barnes is to feature on a set of Football Hero stamps and it states in the WO that we will not sign any of the loan players on permanent deals this season and will wait until the window opens again. This is to keep the FL onboard and a very sensible move IMO.

Looking forward to tonight - COYH

On the subject of poor spelling/grammar - anyone care to have a go at this?

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/teacher-ne...tion-quiz-test

I got 12/14. Was expecting 6 or 7 by knowing a few and guessing some. Didn't know exactly what many of the questions meant but was able to make quite good educated guesses. I had not heard the word "gerund " for maybe 40 years since I was at school, but somehow associated it with "ing". I failed english lit, and grade 6 in english o-level. Maybe I paid more attention at school than I thought.

Morning all, a bit on the fresh side here, but dry at present. ;)

The FL board met yesterday and gave out their threats to Pompey. I wonder if they discussed our little difficulty, and if dodgy owners came into the thinking about Portsmouth. Apart from barring Baz from football clubs, I cannot see what sanctions they can impose on him.

I suppose they can issue a fine but whether they would see the money is another thing - but he would never get near another club with a debt outstanding to them

    Morning all from Gloucester,
I woke up at stupid o' clock this morning<yikes> was having a cup of tea at 5am, what's that all about I wouldn't mind that tomorrow as I am back on shift;) but today my last day of stand down:( not HP. Anyway been for my mile swim this morning now got to wait for the British Gas man to come and finish off some work on our boiler, which is only 2 years old but when you run hot water it goes cold after about 20 seconds but if you just turn the tap on hot water will come but very, very slowly which is not good when you get up at 0430 for work and you need to shave<laugh> but apparently 2 sensors are playing up and need replacing just as well we joined the British Gas Service plan earlier this month<whistle> when mentioned to the guy who came round to service the boiler when we first joined said leave it 2 weeks then it wont cost £150 he would have to charge<laugh>

The answer is Knut, if he is Dansk.

I did not find the test as the Graudian had removed it, probably a lot of spelling errors.

Unfortunately, not having been lucky enough to have kids, what age is primary 6? When I was at school we had 1st to 5th form, then lower and upper sixth. At my first school we even had the remove which was about age 10.

A Knut is a coin in the Harry Potter stories - the others being Galleons and Sickles.

Year 6 is now the old 4th year of the juniors. When I went to secondary school we started in the 3rd Form , then 4th and 5th then the Lower Remove, the Upper Remove and finally the 6th Form - parts 1 and 2 - I suspect a few more on here of an age from Watford will remember that too

Wash your mouth out H - that is a bit too close of comfort. A couple of vowels here and there and you would have been looking at a ban!

Here in bandit country they have 4 possible layers of schools (and that is exclding nursery school!)

    Lower School 4 - 9
    Middle School 9 - 13
    Upper School 13 -16
    6th Form as per normal

Mind you most of them in bandit central must leave the system before they enter it - well the white trash anyway!

They did like to complicate things - much easier in Oz where you start in Grade 1 and finish in Grade 12 (if you get that far).

I often wondered why they called them 'remove' at WBGS - and can't really remember whether it was upper or lower that I actually removed myself from. All I can remember is the sigh of relief that I heaved after leaving the place for the last time, vowing never to return.

Or maybe it was the school heaving the sigh. :)
