Britt is playing as a lone striker but didn't see much of the ball in a scrappy first half.

My cousin supports Southend as he lives there. Tough job as a lone striker but my cousin says he's been doing well there.

Pretty much the same story in the second half - he's been taken off with a few minutes left. Was involved in the build-up for Southend's goal.

Ooohhh get you AK a new breakfast menu! - but thanks for the frothy.

Morning all from a brightening West West London - slightly chilly start at 2C this morning.

Got a rotten cold and feeling sorry for myself and not helped by a bad start to the week in Corporate Madness - I am waiting for France to wake up to see if the overnight server restart has fixed the ongoing engineer scheduling issues I have been plagued with all week! Everything is crossed as the techies are running out of ideas!

Morning all from a very breezy Gloucester, but at least it's dry. Was going to go swimming this morning but the sleepy dust was just too strong, so it will have to be another hour on the exercise bike instead! Then have to visit the Post Office to post some parcels, please let there be no queues!

    Morning all

I see a Coventry defender was booked yesterday for attempting to trip up a pitch invader. Woud it have been a red if the fellow was clean through on goal?

HAHAHA. I get so annoyed by refs who follow the letter of the law on this matter. Why cant they use common sense? Is a player expected to simply allow the invader to run up to him and attempt to attack him? Why shouldnt he be able to trip him and subdue him using a reasonable amount of force? If i were to do it on the street i could get away with it as self-defence or defence of another. So why shouldnt he?

Wasn't the Wycombe keeper booked for kicking the ball into the stand while the guy who jumped on him at Gillingham was being led away?

He was booked for time-wasting as he was taking an age to put the ball down for a goalkick. As 99.9% of keepers do as time is running down and they are winning. The fan either took exception to this or just wanted to be on tv, or had something against the keeper.

Yes, all very strange. He breezed into Banbury United last September and on the evening of a game removed the current manager and assistant and replaced them with Edwin Stein. One of the three footballing brothers, Edwin had a spell as manager of Barnet.

Having lived in the area for many years I know a bit about United and wondered why anyone would want to spend money there. The ground is tiny, had one stand for about two hundred which had to be closed for safety reasons. The ground itself is alongside the river and liable to flood. Set in an old industrial estate there is little room for expansion, but if they think that buying up some of the surrounding land for development along with the football ground, then they might have a surprise. I carried out a planning investigation for some of the adjoining land and found that the council wanted any developer to install a new road and bridge over the railway line to act as a relief road for all of the planned housing in the area.

Seems that the owner is planning to replace the stand, invest in better changing rooms and supporters facilities, as well as having a decent budget for team improvement. So far the local paper is having difficulties speaking to him about his plans now he has his foot in the door at Swindon.

afternoon all. I'm having a hellova week! Thanks for the caramel latte Ak, very lovely way to dish it up too!

Hope you're feeling better this afternoon w_y.

So..i'm having a bit of a phone problem and it's driving me bonkers. on sunday, my phone started playing up..it was difficult to turn on..and by monday i couldn't turn it on at all. i spoke to 3 who said it would take 2 weeks to get it back if i sent it off and as i can't be without my phone for 2 weeks, they assured me that if i claimed on the insurance i could get a new phone...but no..after 2 hours on the phone to 3 and the insurance company...both said i'd need to send it off, and it would take 2 weeks to get it back. I'd already lost one pupil because of this, and 2 weeks without my phone would be dreaful, and for some reason i don't have a spare anymore...so...i went to a phone shop in watford, who managed to fix it yesterday...and today..it doesn't work again! So, my phone is on permanently because if i turn it off i might not be able to turn it on again...and tomorrow i'm back at the phone shop to get them to fix it again...coz now i've blown the warranty! Mobile phones...how did we survive without them! Stressed? You betcha!

Stein as in Brian and Mark. Seems this fella was trying to get into Them, about the time they had a succession of shysters "investing" in them. I hear rumours that Mike Newell and Brian Stein are being lined up to replace Mussolini when he quits...at least the pubs and bookies in Swindon will see an upturn <yikes>

Hi H - no the cold is rotten, so I am at home tomorrow to get fit for Friday. If you are so reliant on your phone for business, might be an idea to buy a cheapo PAYG as a spare and just swap the SIM over in an emergency?
