Ridiculous situation. What was the ballboy doing laying over the ball??? What a twat! He didn't kick the boy though, he kicked the ball, and he got sent off for it, which imo was over the top. Fancy getting sent off for kicking a ball underneath a ballboy..that's a first, surely! lol
No, problem Al. He will appeal and get let off as he comes from the largest team in England. His appeal will be based on the fact that a ball boy is just the same as a corner flag.
I must admit it looked like he kicked the boy as the ball was on the other side of him but it is a ridiculous situation!!! WTF was the ballboy playing at, the Swans keeper should be booked for time wasting as well, again IMHO
Talking of jesting, this was posted by a former colleague on Facebook: Have you been hit by a Hazard at work that wasn't your fault? You could be entitled to compensation.
i agree! It was bonkers...and talksport were uttering such rubbish i wanted to throw the radio out of the car...they said the ballboy was around 11! lol...and that hazard kicked him in the chest and injured him. Good grief! Meanwhile, they reckon he'll get more than a 3 game ban for that...gotta say, i completely understand why he did it, i don't think it was a clever or right thing to do but it's obvious the ballboy was cheating on behalf of the club, and should be punished! (just to add to the mess lol)
Ball boy to finish up getting charged with trying to steal an other persons property, or banned from the ground for life because of unruly behaviour. Of course with the odd broken rib or two he might well have countless claims companies bombarding his mobile phone with offers of help.

Morning all from a much milder West West London with the snow melting away fast... Seems the ticket allocation for Forest has sold out and now pay on the day - I think I am going to go up for it. I just love away games and having a few in Hooters before the game is just the thing for lifting ther winter blues - I have a new boss and he is a complete corporate dick!

Saw the ball boy incident on TV news this morning. Clearly the ball boy was cheating - holding the ball and not giving it back- he is 17 but looks 12. HOwever he was then pushed over it seems - they did not show that and went down with the ball under him - Hazard in frustration kicked at the ball to get it out - but did get the kid in the ribs - not hard and the kid made too much of it - must be a professional footballer in the making. What annoyed me most though was ex Chelsea Pat Nevin who was interviewed and could only go on about how disgraceful the ball boy had been. Excuse me - is he the first ball boy to try to "help" his team - do I not remember that at Watford more than once? Hazard should have stood back and appealed to the ref - who could have sent the ball boy off and made it clear he would add time on. Seem to remember another footballer kicking someone on the ground - his excuse was alcohol not time pressure in a match - and he served time for it Anyway they have all shaken hands and agreed they are best friends and dusted off their handbags and no one is pressing charges - what decent people they all are - lol (that is for H )
Morning all, bit chilly but certainly warming in my office than the warehouse I was in yesterday. You must work with my brother-in-law w_y, he works in the City and has just been saying the same thing to me.
Regarding the ball-boy incident, it brings me to a point that I have been meaning to air for a few weeks.... Clearly they all had been coached on slowing the game down as a few minutes earlier another one had let the ball slowly go past him as it went out for a goal kick and then slowly bent down to pick it up and the rolled it about 10 yards towards the keeper where it just stopped. When they showed it on Sky, you could see Lampard moaning at the Ref about it. Now I think both parties are totally stupid so have no real opinion, but my point is - If you look at the replays the ref is not even watching what was happening and this is my gripe. Ref's seem to not watch the game anymore and this was clearly seen at The Vic last week with the foul on Almunia - if the ref had carried on watching the ball he would have seen the very late foul and seen it as the violent play that it was. Other thing that I have started to notice is the "pushing the ball away". When a player gets a free kick awarded against them they gently push the ball away about 3 or 4 yards, which is enough to give them time to get back and also to stop a quick free kick to be taken. The rfef does not see it as kicking the ball away.but it has nearly the same effect. Rant over....
Morning all Should be in London baby-sitting Mrs H's grandson but she went down with flu last night and is sleeping it off. Let's hope it's only the 24-hour variety. Didn't see the ball boy incident but I understand he was lying over the ball. Permissable to ruck the ball clear in those circumstances, isn't it? Or is that a different game?
My thoughts exactly. I thought if i said that i would be slaughtered, but i think it is as much Hazard's fault as the ballboy's. It was one of those situations where both acted foolishly and just need a Gibbs slap and told to get on with it. This is a Gibbs slap for those who dont know. PS you may want to mute the video.
