Do british gas have a list of "preferred contractors " that they recommend ? Do they install new systems themselves ? If so How much do they charge?
Hey Sandy. I can text my Dad and see what he makes of the quote? He works for National Grid and has done for 28yrs now and is one of their senior engineers. He might know a bit about it.
Thanks Dan, that would really help. I've got another guy coming this afternoon to quote so hopefully give a comparison. The first guy is Gas Safe registered, but will check if it means he can sign the work off (thanks for that Norway). The second guy can sign off work as he fitted a mates boiler and was qualified to do so. He did mention that some guys can fit them but have to get someone else in to sign them off.
Glad to be of some help Sandy Just got back from a 10k walk with the dogs Sweating profusely so must of got rid of some weight gained from the last UK trip
I'm no expert Sandy but that sounds incredibly cheap - you could ask them why - my last boiler cost nearly £3k
Apologies Ak if I confused you, we had a visitor at my place of work (Bristol, 30 miles away from Gloucester) I was invited to attend a meeting with him as he was giving a presentation about my trade. I thought there might be news about the redundancies that are happening within the RAF and if my trade would be included in the yet to be published figures. All trades within the RAF are being included and yes there maybe some in my trade but the numbers won't be published till the end of Jan 12. But it seems like my trade might not be as badly affected as others, but we won't know for sure until then, or the criteria they are looking at! Did that make sense?
Afternoon all - lovely day in bandit country. Head buried in Excel all day....I see the Jeremy Clarkson saga continues with 1,000's complaining - if the BBC sack the oafish bore, I will go without a drink for a whole week-end!
I wont Something betting odds for you W-y Brighton to beat forest 2.36(thats got to be good value) Watford to draw 2.2 Bristol to beat boro 2.76
Palace V Derby this evening could be an interesting one , this might be a case of after the lord mayors show! I fancy Derby to nick this!
Hey Sandy, sorry this took so long; Dad's been very busy. Our last boiler cost £3500 but Dad said there was nothing strange about it. So not a great deal of help. Sorry.
Afternoon all...a couple of hours of running around ahead..got to pick up the mother in law (oh joy) and get the girls to the school show..then take everyone to the school show and bring them all home! You might notice there's no mention of food in that lot..no idea what we're all going to eat..but mine will obviously be very slimming How's your day going? Hmm?
quite sedately ! will keep an ear to hear the Euro 2012 draw and see who England get and then might watch the Eagles v Rams with the odd glass of wine infront of a roaring log fire
No worries Dan, I think I am going to go with the guy but will be getting the next boiler up (might as well do it right first time) . He's also the only one who can do the work within a decent timescale. Keep your fingers crossed guys that he's a 'good un' and I don't end up on 'Homes from Hell' or some other consumer program. Sandy, just hold him to what he has committed to do and you should be OK. One tip, hold back some monies and only pay them when he has completely finished and all snags cleared.. Listening to the Euro draw - are Greece, Portugal & Ireland in the Group of Debt?
