Morning all from a cloudy and windy (but thankfully dry) Jersey. Will be staying at home this evening as I've got the boys with me and they don't even know if they'll be awake come midnight whereas their Mum is at her Dad's in France and they'll probably be at a local pub/restaurant that is a regular haunt of his.

Morning all from a damp & chilly bandit country. I have never been a great lover of NYE, I think it must have been the effect of watching The White Heather Club as a child - nowadays I would be receiving therapy & counselling after witnessing such an appalling spectacle. So I have got some very nice steaks in and will have a few glasses to accompany them. Need to up early anyway to get down to The Vic…COYH

    Sadly, I have to agree......

I'll be toddling down to the local harbour to watch a fireworks display, trying to squeeze into the only pub for miles that sells real ale for a quick pint or two - and fervently hoping that there are no drunken gay gordons polluting the streets on the way home.

    Morning all

Surprise, surprise...it's chucking it down again. We are having a Spanish NYE at home with friends. Beats paying money to squeeze into a crowded pub these days. Mrs H is doing paella and I'm in charge of the Rioja...a fair division of labour or what?

Morning all at the start of another year, and in my case there have been lots of New Years. :(

Didn't sleep well last night due to street light across the road being on and not going off. Why it is thought to be a good idea seems strange as at 6.00pm all of the shutters are closed and no one in this hamlet lets the heat out of their houses by opening the doors again. Light pollution is not something we suffer from with a total of five street lights that go off normally at 10.00pm. ;)

I see that Jay Demerit will be at the ground and on the pitch at half time. Suspect he might notice a difference in the style of play since he last kicked a ball there. Really hoping that after all the expectation there will be a good result for us today.:emoticon-0100-smile

And now for the coffee to wake me up. ;)

Morning all from a bright bandit country - blimey no hangover on a NYD, that the first time in many a year! Really looking forward today and will be interesting to see the changes GFZ will be forced to make. My lift will be arriving in 20 minutes and I'm ready to go!

Happy New Year to all Nesters....

Happy New Year to all. Why is it that the person who went to bed first last night at my place is still in bed while the rest of us have been up for at least a couple of hours (4 in my case)?

Because he's a teenager? It's what they do.;)

Having said that - my 19 yo has just this minute returned home from his night of celebrations. Is in a rather fragile state but to his credit he is currently washing his vomit-stained clothes. Not a pretty sight :emoticon-0119-puke:

Is this fit healthy or fit as a girlie thought?

Tomorrow will be a bad day at the office for most of you, first day of work after a long holiday.

    Happy new year to you.
