My copy has the last reprint as 1989 which would mean that I probably read it on holiday in Florida in 1990.
Another alternative OFH is the school in Addiscombe Road. That's the road that goes up from The Oddfellows to Whippendale Road and about a 15 min walk from the ground with the crowd. Cost's a fiver and after the game turn up towards Whippendale Road and you should be able to get to Aylesbury by 7.00 PM no problem. Only issue is that the school gets full fairly early so you might have to be there before 12.45. If not the Car Park in the roundabout at the top of Hempstead Road might be another option, but the walk is a bit longer. GG - Glad you enjoyed the film.
Evening all. So, wanna hear my sagas of today? No? Tough . Today is Young Mr H's birthday. He turned 19. Tomorrow (which is actually now today) he flies to Amsterdam with a couple of mates. So, this morning we went into his room to do the usual birthday wake up, and Mr H, being Mr H, began a teensy nag, asking Young Mr H if he'd packed yet....which he hadn't..and whether he knew where his passport was. Ah, says young Mr H, i've left it in Leeds, at the University. (this, followed by a string of expletives). Hmm, not the best start to the day...so, he left home at 10am, and returned at 12:30am (45 mins ago), 9 hours on a coach to Leeds..and back, plus the bus to the uni, and the tube to Victoria. I felt so sorry for him, i collected him from Victoria and brought him home. What a crap birthday. But don't think, for one minute, the saga ends there. Oh no, that would be far too simple! lol Yesterday, i asked Young Mr H which airport they were flying from and at what time. Oh, says he, somewhere in London. Oh? Says i? Which one? L*t*n? Stansted? Gatwick? No, he says...London Southend!!! Southend??? Southend is not in London! Am i wrong? Southend is as much London as L*t*n is, right?! But blinkin' miles away! lol. They fly at 7.30am! So, somehow or other, muggins here has agreed to take them to the airport at 4.30am...honestly i need my head examined! Happy birthday Young Mr H! lol

Oh H, I take it this adventure will be the next chapter of your blog "When does it stop"? I hope there are plenty of good coffee shops on route!!!
Morning all from a bright and sunny bandit country, thanks for the coffee ak. Hopefully a quiet day in the office where no one will bother me and I can happily tidy my emails up.
Morning all, bright, sunny and warmish in this part of the world today. Nothing unusual in the tale from H when it comes to students if I remember correctly. Our eldest was also up at Leeds University and made the coach trip up and down when I could not be persuaded to drive him. One day I had a phone call to say that he had 'stumbled' the night before on his way home from a party, and had lost his glasses. Not being too sure where the 'stumble' had taken place, he had followed the route he thought he might have taken in the next day's light, but could not find them. Being useless without them he needed his spare pair from home, so would I mind a 300 mile round trip?
Afternoon all - another day of madness in madness!! H - Brilliant story, don't you just love 'em when they do that to you. I am still asking "those questions" to all of my 3 and I am still surprised at some of the responses! I suppose you will be picking him up from Sarfend at about 03.00 in the morning as well! Thanks for the frothy AK
I have never read the Hobbit. I read Lord Of The Rings and tried the Silmarillion but did not get very far into the book. Silmarillion is too close to the stories of creation with a complicated twisting.
Reading this, does anyone think it happens in England? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20769692
We have a clear sky, which is different. Still there is snow and -2C. The sun goes at kl.14.41 today and on Friday the days are getting longer.
Bored now, have tidied emails and running out of things to pretend to be doing when people walk past my desk. Luckily I have a corner desk so can surf the net during lulls like these. Is it wrong to be thinking about having a pint already, or is it just getting into the festive spirit?
Living on an island where you have to fly or go by ferry to get away should make sure my boys never make mistakes like that. Hope you've got rid of that unnecessary stress.
morning all! Ha! The day got better, the boys got to the airport ok, but somehow or other my son managed to leave his phone in the car...thankfully i wasn't quite gone yet! Thankfully, w_y, they're flying into Gatwick at 10pm on Thursday..i think they can probably find their own way home from there! Thanks for the caramel latte Ak
My boring day has just got better, one of the girls at work has a boyfriend who works for Krispy Kreme donuts. We just had a box of them dropped into the office. Anyone remember these icons from the good old 606 days?
Very bad news from the French press. "Early tasting reports indicate that quality has been maintained in Burgundy, Champagne and the Rhone but 2012 is tipped to be one of the most disappointing red Bordeaux vintages of recent years." Wonder if I can find a 'lucky' Burgundy?
