In light of our recent disciplinary record, I think it time that we get rid of Z Cars again - here's my suggestion for a replacement:
Snowing in Ãxnadalsheiði and Mývatn. Akureyri is in the middle so we could have snow later. The hills the other side of the fjörd are almost clean of the last snow now.
Hardly call it at thriller ,was a piss poor game and our defence are useless , 2nd highest scorers in the league yet we sit 21st, says it all really
I am really getting fed up with refs giving penalties when a ball is driven at a defender and he cannot get out of the way. The guidance that the FA give is as follows. Handling the ball involves a deliberate act of a player making contact with the ball with his hand or arm. The referee must take the following into consideration: ⢠the movement of the hand towards the ball (not the ball towards the hand) ⢠the distance between the opponent and the ball (unexpected ball) ⢠the position of the hand does not necessarily mean that there is an infringement. Why when that seems clear enough do they allow themselves to be swayed by the baying of the fans?
Frenchie, while I agree with you I think refs are often on a hiding to nothing with this one. It often takes a video replay before those who've been watching the game spot the hand/arm flicking out to block the ball. That said, a ball blasted at a defender from a couple of yards away should never be a pen, nor should defenders be expected to defend with their hands behind their backs all the time.
Basically then, there's no way that was a penalty last night...just like we said. Thanks M Frenchie...if only the refs would play ball!
I have been going on about this handball thing for years, like a demented Duracell rabbit. Why won't Refs listen and fans get to understand the rules. Sorry, it is getting late for me.
it's ridiculous...have you seen it? he could never have moved his hand out of the way in time, and yes, it was high, but he didn't move it towards the ball...bonkers decision..as usual!
Yes I have seen it. He was trying to block the ball with his body. If you watch a players feet and legs you get a good idea of what they are attempting to do. A clear case of ball to hand in my opinion, but the crowd called it and the ref was influenced by them.
it's infuriating! Ah well, onwards and upwards. Morning M Frenchie and all. Busy day today....i think i should just call it a normal day! Not least because i have to make an emergency visit to the dentist with a broken tooth, darn it! Ah well, they say when you turn 50 it'll all down hill, i think i just started my downward descent! Have a great day all, thanks in advance for the caramel latte Ak Laters
Sæll öll. I am very late today and wish you helped yourselves. We have -4C here but petrol price has gone down again and now converts to GBP1,229 for one litre, the diesel fuel price for GBP1,274 has remained the same in krúnur. The good news is my english cough is nearly gone. Some of my weekend friends have been sent to bed or sick with their illness, I think you will call them a bunch of girls.
Afternoon all - pouring with rain here & a somewhat chilly 2C. Back to work next week - just in time, apparently, for the first heavy snow of the winter. I wonder what the odds are for a White Halloween? I was just musing over tonight's fixture list & wondered who the hell the team were that Liverpool are playing - Anzhi Makhachkala. A quick bit of Googling brought this rather alarming article: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...strangest-club-anzhi-makhachkala-8225310.html I wonder what GT would have said if all his players lived 1200 miles from the town?
For all lovers of smart phones, you might be interested in this article about insurance claims. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/...st-bizarre-mobile-phone-insurance-claims.html
Classic! Especially this - A woman in her late 20s from Bristol claimed the vibration function on her BlackBerry Bold 9900 phone had stopped working whilst she was using it as an adult toy - have tears streaming down my face Wonder what she would have done had a call come half way through?
I'd love to know how many claims made to Jersey insurance companies with seagulls taking the phone as I've seen one snatching a sandwich from someone's hand. Also, the person was at one of the tables outside a cafe in the middle of a busy St Helier lunchtime, not exposed out on the beach.
