I was just trying to remember when we were decent, but my memory is not that good. As the commentator just said 30-40 years ago we always qualified or were in the mix, these days TOSH. IMHO it all boils down to the late 80's when the money came into the game and Rangers and Celtic ruined it by bringing in the foreigners (I include the English) and did not bring through the young Scottish talent, who were left to squander in the 1st division and the lesser SPL teams. I just feel so sad about the whole situation
Blimey, he wil need a lie down. Would anyone complain if we shipped him out and got Vydra/Forestieri in permanently?
I suspect not. Vydra made it off the bench tonight - played the last 30 minutes against Bulgaria. Garner played against Bury. No comparison really.
Well ignoring the international side of things 4 goals in 6/7 games compared to 1 in a season says it all
thank you everyone...Mark, don't worry...i'm not sure which post you mean, but it's all fine..everyone can post anything here, that's the beauty of the Nest ... i'm touched...truly. Going to be a tough few months, i'll be here when i can... xxx
Really sorry to hear the bad news of your mate, have been through it with some very close loved ones. Not really sure what to say tbh. The responses I got after my dad & Janie were very predictable & understandable & I kept saying to people, "it's OK mate, it's not your fault." Folk don't really know what else to say. Stay strong for her & enjoy what time she has together.
Morning all, a bit overcast and a breeze that feels fresh. Feeling good about my progress as I have managed to get a slipper onto the foot that was plastered for the first time. Despite my walking around on it the swelling has gone down. coming up next. Glad that the England game was off because I was going to watch it. Instead I watched the Spain - France one, which really turned into a corker. The commentators were really funny with their shouts of excitement, and when they showed a picture of them there were two large guys on a bench for two, with Arsne Wenger sandwiched between them. The amount he had to say suggests that he was on a scouting mission.
Sorry to hear that H. I've been through the whole experience and it's hard...you spend so much time being strong for someone else that it's easy to forget to be good to yourself...so make sure you don't! Just back from a birthday trip...walking in the New Forest, hotel and Michelin star restaurant in the evening and a visit to Beaulieu Motor Museum this morning. Th latter brings back a lot of memories - from my Dad's BSA Bantam to Hillman Imps, Austin Healeys and Jowett Javelins (Dinkys only of course).
I have been catching up with the posts as with my move of office came two days of training as well. Soon I leave for Firefest in Nottingham, that is Friday to Sunday then back home.
I would suggest that Bury would probably give Bulgaria a good game judging by the level of international football these days.
I'm sure that the good Burghers of Bury would appreciate that sentiment, whereas the Burghers of Bulgaria would no doubt be bemused. Regardless of which, I'd certainly still rather have Vydra in the team ahead of Garner.
thanks Billy, i know, you were very brave through it all, i remember. i'm doing my best, going to try and do something very special for her before she goes...
thank you Theo...i guess the 'me' time will happen when i get the chance...thankfully she has a good support network so i'm by no means alone through this and neither is she. i saw her today, dropped in briefly, and she just amazes me every day. She is so brave...such an inspiration.. thank you so much w_y
