I remember reading a news article some years after the landing in which it was claimed that NASA officials had invited the last surviving negro slave to mission control to watch the landing. When asked what he thought of it, he apparently replied that all he had seen was something on a TV screen, something that could have been filmed anywhere and that he didn't believe it had actually happened. That must have made their day
Afternoon all from a bright & sunny bandit country - been a busy day in the W_Y household, I have been baking whilst Mrs W_Y & Little Miss W_Y have been ordering new iPhone 5's!! I hate these conspiracy theories with the moon landing one being a absolute joke whilst the 9/11 one being totally contemptible. COYH
Stephen Fry made that exact point about the Russians on an epidose of QI and, although I wasn't born when the moon landing took place, having been aware of the nature of how the countries were to each other as I was growing up highlights that.
Hey Frenchie. Nothing special, just a normal day in the world of a watford fan. Oh yeah, and a certain Lloyd scored an exquisite lob from the edge of the box.
Morning all, I cannot tell you what the weather looks like outside as it is only just getting light. My nurse popped in at 7.00 am on the dot all bright and breezy, and tells me that she gets up at 5.00am every day, never takes a day off or goes for a holiday. She finishes her rounds about mid-day then goes onto her second job, pig breeding. Not quite my lifestyle these days, but she says it suits her. Tomorrow I am back to my normal timing of 9-10, which is much more like it for me, but one of my friends did say that she had a nurse come to her at 5.30 am to take a blood sample making sure that she had nothing to eat beforehand. Well at least I am up getting myself into the right frame of mind to have Mme drive me across the department. She has now mastered which hand she needs to use to change gear, next stage is to indicate her direction changes without using the windscreen wipers. I just hope that all of this charging around is going to result in a very good dinner with my Forest friend. At least I will be able to drink without watching how much. Have a good day what ever you are planning.
Morning all, well after a very full day yesterday I have nothing really planned today. I am watching the end of MOTD after having some FaceTime with the other half earlier, it was the BoB function at the Embassy yesterday and at the Arc so she was very busy as well. Likewise like OFH enjoy whatever your doing today

Just read this this morning - it seems that there was indeed a whistleblower but the judge ignored him apparently. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/u...-of-coverup-was-ignored-by-judge-8142516.html Shameful really.
Stat of the day: From yesterday's team, Lloyd has played 142 more games for Watford than the other 13 players combined.
Morning all from an overcast and drizzly bandit country.. NNW - that is one brilliant stat.. BB - What I find interesting is that the particular enquiry that ignored the PC's testimony was set up Jack Straw who has been telling the world all week that it was all the fault of the incumbent tory government - no doubt he will claim that he did not know...funny how politicians can use that excuse yet they damn anyone else who tries to use it!
Morning all Mrs H and I are intending to have an extremely restful day after 2 days looking after her 16-month-old grandson...so much energy in such a small frame - but great fun!
Well said W_Y. I'm generally happy to take pops at the Tories when they deserve it, and it's true that several MPs from the Thatcher era have questions to answer in the coming months, but Labour are just as culpable for their failure to get to the truth during their era. If individual MPs have committed crimes, these must be investigated, but this simply isn't an issue to make political capital out of.
It's only a financially sound move if he gets a second contract on similar money, and he's only going to get that by playing games. He could easily have earned the same money Reading are paying him at a more-money-than-sense club in this division, the difference being that he would definitely be playing.

I think footballers, understandably, and even agents look at things in a far shorter timeframe than second contracts. They grab what they can as soon as they can generally - even Mapps.
That's true as a general rule. But if the only thing Mariappa looked at was the value of his next contract, he would probably have ended up somewhere like Blackburn or Cardiff.
