So based on that, would John Goodall qualify?

Did they have telephone boxes back then? <laugh>

I think that we should include John Goodall BB, although I am not sure that he ever stopped playing. He turned out for us at the age of 44 I believe, which is the record at WFC in peace time.

Off to a convent this weekend to visit some of my girlfriend's family who live there. This is going to be a wierd one, I see it as a type of cult really.

It seems that our Tamas is plying his trade and developing his sense of the offside rule in Russia!

Great Minxy. Mme keeps looking at a bottle and asking if I have drunk it all. Now I can say that it is being shared. ;)

Morning all, no clouds, no wind, just a large sun beaming.

Sorry H, didn't see your request for a tipple until this morning. Minxy has quite a thirst, but we could have opened another bottle.

Will the catering deal be a success for both sides? Hope it doesn't mean price rises and quality reduced.

As I live in a rural area of France there is still time to have a couple of hours off work for a spot of lunch. It is rather different in the large towns and cities where shops and offices do not close for an enforced food break, but it is still common for companies to provide vouchers that can be used to pay for a modest meal.

There is an interesting article on the beeb website about this subject. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-19495012

It seems to me that the ever increasing drive to produce more can place unreasonable demands on people, and if this article can be believed then a different approach would pay off.

Today is colder 5 degrees of celsius and a wind of 9m/s from the west. The sun is bright so the view is nice and clear.

I saw a report of a British family were shot in France, which is sad. My question is how they are a British family when two were travelling on passports of Iraq and one Swedish?

    Morning all

Nearing the end of a sunny week in North Norfolk...lots of coastal walks, crab sandwiches, cockles, and Woodforde's Wherry. Tasting menu at Morston Hall was pretty good too - a treat that will keep Mrs H happy for weeks

It is all happening here at present. We wondered why the hamlet was disappearing under a cloud of smoke. This was follow by the sound of sirens and vehicles with flashing lights rushing around the lanes.

Mme has been out to investigate and finds that the field at one end of the lane that goes to ours fields is alight. The fire brigade are here and will no doubt empty the village pond which was very low because of the hot dry weather we have had for weeks now. Last night we could smell smoke and suspected that someone at the other end of the village was having a bonfire. With all of the grass being tinder dry it has to be sheer madness.

Fire engines, yes more than one, have left and the smoke has cleared.

That is enough excitement for this week. ;)
