Good news day - Mrs L has not been too good this week so we have not been able to go and see our newest arrival much to Mrs L's frustration but she is much better now so we are heading down in the morning to Guildford for the weekend (do I dare try to go to the Watford Open day - no perhaps not ) On our way back we will stop in at Bristol to see our 4th daughter's new home - moved in a couple of weeks ago Finally number 5 child; only son is on his way back here having found himself a job in London with Tesco - he attended an Assessment centre last week and then had an interview yesterday and they offered him the job - he is highly diluted. He graduated from York last month
Really pleased to hear all of your good news Leo, also belated congrats on your second Grandaughter. As for your sons job were his expectations some what watered down or was he delighted. Keep well and have a lovely weekend.
Glad that Mrs L is feeling better and you can visit the new bundle Lenny - great news that your son has got himself a start at Tesco. It is not easy out there and even with their bad publicity, Tesco are a first rate company to work for - he has done very well.
He left Uni with no idea what he wanted to do so I am pleased he is joining a large organisation so he can "explore" Sales, Marketing god fobid HR or Accounts etc. They are good employers. We feared he would eat us out of house and home teenage boys can eat for England but at 21 they are in Olympic competition
Good news Lenny, have a great weekend. Just to keep you updated with the goings on in Ligue 2 France, Chateauroux played their 3rd game of the season tonight and won 1-0. This was the first win, but they haven't lost yet and are into 6th place. It was quite odd how last season Watford's results followed my 'local' team.
Evening all, my first night shift for several weeks hopefully everything that is outstanding will get sorted by midnight and I can get my head down! Well here's hoping anyway
Evening all A busy few days with visitors to entertain. Much time spent in the garden and a few good glasses consumed. Time to relax now they've gone...another glass perhaps?
evening all...it's been a darn long day..i was cooking at 7am this morning (well, yesterday morning now but to me it's still Friday! lol). Then after a hair appointment i went off to be a car, meet a friend for coffee, and have the family round for dinner. Busy with nice things, but busy all the same Hope you all had a good day, hope to be around before and after the match tomorrow..sooooo excited! night night, sweet dreams
Morning all from a bright & sunny West West London, although there was a heavy mist in bandit country when I left. Looks like good progress was made overnight at work and we are 18 hours ahead of schedule, so should have a quiet Sunday night now! Will be getting match reports from the chaps by text just to keep me happy!
Morning all, a little belated but trying to get some bits done before it becomes too hot. One of our electric fans died so bought a replacement yesterday. While on the bread run thought I would get rid of the broken one at the recycling centre. When I found the right bin it was full of electric fans, so the 1 year guarantee seems to be actually how long they will last.
Get yourself a punkah-wallah - they tend to last a lot longer, and with the price of electricity these days, they're probably cheaper.
Morning all Coffee and newspaper sorted, sun out, gardening done yesterday, tough day ahead... Mrs H is on the phone to a friend waiting to catch a plane en route to Tuscany. Reminds me it's somewhere I haven't been for 4/5 years...
More likey to come from Poland or a Baltic country these days - so it would be Pork n Cabbage...I am sure this will result in a "racist" charge
Nearly an opening day shock up here for Rangers - saved by a last gasp equaliser for a 2-2 draw in Peterhead. Life three divisions down may not be as easy as Rangers fans expected.
Well pardon my french but F*ck me can Mo Farah run What a performance, he had them in the palm of his hands for the last lap........WOW
In fairness to Rangers fans, at least they're taking the punishment like men. Sure, they're showing the same arrogance that our northern neighbours did three years ago, but fans accepted at an early stage that Third Division football was best for all concerned. If a certain club from Bedfordshire had resigned from the Football League in 2008, rather than go out kicking, screaming, and proving that they had 35,000 glory hunters, they would probably have bounced straight back into the league and be close to League One by now.
