evening all...not surprised about Murfin...he didn't look like he'd improved when watching him in pre season..shame though. Congrats w_y! No mean feat...! My daughter is home from her month in Israel, it's gone really fast! It's great to have her back Now the other two are heading off to wales for 2 weeks...back in time for results...gawd, they're coming up quickly!
Normally a bit too early for , but am celebrating Australia's demolition of Spain in the Olympic Hockey - three of the team being from my home town of Rockhampton. No mean feat for a small country town.
Good morning people! Reading quite a few negative comments from other team's fan about our situation - personally, I think it's just jealousy. Also, these 7 new signings, who says they'll play all that much, it'll be interesting to see what team Zola puts out on Sunday against Spurs (can't wait to be there!) I left my job yesterday as I'm moving to new pastures in Sept (Cambridge) so I have a nice month off which will be good!!! Today, a lazy day in front of the olympics and hopefully watching Team GB bring home some golds!
Morning all Been a deep dark 3 months for me - Mrs L got seriously ill from the anti-cancer drugs she was put on and all went black. She stopped taking them for a bit and then they put her back on at half a dose. That has gradually helped her return from the zombie like state she had drifted into. Yesterday we had to go to London for the Royal Marsden (thank goodness they opened the Olympic lanes) for a day of tests scans etc and they show the cancer has not grown since the dosage was halved so all we can do is to be thankful and keep our fingers crossed.
Lenny - good to see you back and to see some positive news for Mrs L. Thoughts and prayers are with you both for continued good news - take care mate.
Ditto to that Lenny - you've been missed and I'm sure a few on here had suspected the worst. Have you managed to keep up with the events of the last month or so?
Thank you all. I have tried to look in from time to time but we went away for a bit. Yesterday was looming as they only do the scan (which is the key) every 12 weeks so we had no idea whether the reduced dosage would be effective - if the cancer starts to grow again they will stop the medication and end the trial so we were rather scared especially when we were held in the consulting room for over an hour as they were "confirming measurements" - we feared the worst but on a happy note the outcome was positive.
Lenny, so glad that you do have something positive to keep holding on to. As you know there are plenty of us out here keeping you both in our hearts and minds.
I have just had a text from Little Miss W_Y who is at Lords covering the Archery - a bunch of lads have turned up dressed up as Robin Hood and his Merry Man, including Friar Tuck For some reason the thought of it has had me singing Pulling Mussels From A Shell in my head...
i'm sure it has to be jealousy, what's to be negative about? Apart from our treatment of Sean Dyche of course. Congrats on the move, enjoy your time off! So good to see you Leonardo, as M Frenchie said, we were all keeping you and Mrs L in our thoughts, and hoping your disappearance didn't mean the worst. So good to know there is some positive news for you both. Much love. Good to see a couple of gold medals going up on the medal table for us at last!
it was a draw NZ and by all accounts, not very inspiring...some good performances though from our youth
Morning all - busy boy again. Bloke at work told me we played Barnet last night and won 8-0...I'm trying to find out what he is on about! Costa coffee again..
Found it - it was a behind closed doors friendly yesterday afternoon...in the WOB http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/9850289.Hornets_breeze_to_Barnet_friendly_win/?ref=mr
With names like Jazzi Barnum-Bobb and Bobson Bawling in the team, I'd say the future may well be 'interesting'.
morning all. Another day, another dollar. Went to the hospital with Miss H this morning, she had a mole removed last year and it hasn't healed well..seems she has keloid..it's hereditory apparently...i know my dad in law had it. Poor love. So, a course of steroid injections started this morning, brave bunny said it didn't hurt...i don't believe her lol. Another 5 injections to come at 6 weekly intervals, hey ho. Hopefully it'll improve the scarring though, and not leave her with too many side affects. Busy work day starts soon, so i won't be around much again. I'm missing being able to post here as much as i did, it's a bit pooey, but i guess, till the season starts, i'm not missing too much ...hopefully i'll get some time then!
