How things change. You didn't get free beer because of rain when I lived in the UK.

Best news of the day - Chris Moyles is quitting. Made my day! Hopefully this will also mark the end of his butt kissing sycophants especially that "Comedy Dave" - just how he is comedy the good lord only knows.

I might have a telephone wire for the weekend, but I will not expect that. Some kind person stole something and the new part has to be delivered and this takes two days and a lot of telephone calls on my mobile telephone.

Played for my works cricket team this evening and did very little - just a few stops in the field. As a spinner, the strong cross-wind would've made it a nightmare to bowl so I wasn't needed for that and our openers got the 85 needed to win. It was our first win in about 4 or 5 games (although one was a friendly) so it was a happy dressing room after the game.

I was asked by one of my team-mates what my thoughts were about Zola and my answer was "time will tell". If I'd been prepared for him asking that question, I would've responded by asking what he thought of Steve Clarke.

my Twitter feed is full of 'yay, he's gone' tweets..i'm guessing he wasn't that good! lol

Dan! Good to see you! :)

Thanks for the caramel latte Ak.

Evening all. What a day..and not a great one...
It all started this morning when i was about to do my final revision for my test this morning, when a very close friend of mine turned up...she's been having problems with her stomach, feeling sick a lot and not really being able to eat much...she had been to the doc, and he'd sent her for a CAT scan, and she popped in before it, just to say hello coz she was too early. It threw me a bit, coz i was all timed for my test, but the news didn't sound great, and to be honest, it put my test in perspective, despite the fact i haven't slept for a week because i've been worried so much, but anyway, we had a coffee (Ak's latte for me ;)) and then we went our separate ways. I passed my test, though not as well as i would have liked...sadly, her day didn't end quite so well. She has two malignant tumours in her stomach..they can't operate so they start Chemo next week :(...they're big..and secondary, she had lymphomas last year...i'm scared for her...but she's very stoic..if anyone can get through this, she can.

Hi H, its good to see you too. Im sorry to hear about your friend. I hope the Chemo works and she recovers quickly. Its bad enough to have the news once, but twice must be even more heartbreaking.
