Spoke to pie about an hour ago and he's upset as he's had some bad news. He's an Explorer Scout and he helps with the Beaver Scouts in the same Group as a young leader, which he really enjoys. Unfortunately, the Beavers have a new leader who doesn't want him or another young leader anymore. What makes it doubly bad for him is that he's not able to say goodbye to the Beavers as he won't see them again before they break for the summer due to being at his Grandad in France. It's upset him so much that he was in tears when talking to me on the phone about it. I think this new leader is a coward as they gave the news to pie's mum for her to tell him. The fact that his mum is a Cub leader is irrelevant in this. If anything, that makes it even worse as they're using her position as a fellow leader.

That's really sad! What reason did he give? What a coward, you're right...poor Pie, give him a virtual hug from me...rejection is a horrible thing. Poor lad. And if it's any consolation, we know they're missing out hugely!

I don't understand the reason behind it, no one knows the players like SD and his team<grr> Let's just hope it is just idle gossip:(

Baz what a nasty thing to do. I hope Pie can wait and take revenge on this person.

it's a very strong piece of gossip and it won't die...the only positive is that it keeps coming out of Italy..what do they know! lol You're right though, it makes no sense. Give SD a chance, if he fails, then there's every reason to get rid of him, but til then, what did he do, other than succeed in the most difficult of circumstances..and...the fans are completely behind him...they'll have a lot of work to do to rebuild fan backing if they do it...if that bothers them...

Quite stupid in my opinion. Just about every voluntary organization struggles to get people willing to give of their time to help out, and to turn people away is inept. I am afraid that too many people think that they know best even when they have hardly had time to get their feet under the table, yet when they do find that they need help a little further along the way wonder why no one steps forward.

    Shame. :(

There's an unfortunate parallel there to the Watford/Pozzo situation - I suspect that SD will be feeling much the same as pie.

This has got me angry. As Frenchy says, it is also stupid. I will be muttering to myself all day about this. Tell Pie he has a lot of support here.
