    I knewwe could do this

    Frakkland - Ísland 3:2

Ísland have a habit of losing a goal at the end of the game and today they were special, two goals in the last ten minutes.

I'm fine Dan. Glad you had a good break.

I've got a scarey amount of work to do before I leave on Saturday.

We've had a couple of fairly big aftershocks in the last few days. One was over 5, which made the building I work in sway a bit. Nothing came off the shelves though.
Mrs NZ has filled in all the cracks in the external walls of our house. (She argues that I am English and therefore totally incapable of doing DIY.) We got fed up with waiting for the insurance claim to be processed and wanted to stop any more rainwater getting into the concrete.

Glad to hear your holiday went well Dan.

Although I wouldn't worry too much about wasting a day. It's still hot enough to sunbathe right now.

Morning all from a very bright & sunny West West London....great night last night watching Joan Armatrading, well worth going.

Time for a rant - well finally the work on rebuilding my nearest motorway junction is nearly complete and what a fine f*ck up they have made of it. Before when going south I used to just pull off left and drive straight down the slip road - well now I have to stop at a set of lights and turn right down a new slip road that goes back on itself and under the junction joining the M1 about 3/10 mile further north than it used to. Reason for this genius thinking was to add some distance from the entry slip road from the service station exit just after. Trouble is I now have to wait 5 minutes to get across the lights and that is at 6.00 in the morning - it is utter chaos at 07.45 with 2 mile queue!! Just for 3/10 mile!! All I can hope for is that they adjust the timing of the lights to keep the queues down!

Short week this wee, finishing Thursday lunchtime to go down to Kent for a eagerly awaited gig!

Cheers in advance for the frothy AK..

morning all. An early start this morning, exercises already done. I had to get back into it today, otherwise i'd have lost it altogether, having had a week off for my eyes, when really 3 days would have done. So easy to get out of the habit, and sooo hard to get back into it. Still, today begins a new beginning, and all that!

w_y, that sounds utterly absurd and perfectly normal for the road designer people who have nothing better to do, it would seem, than to cause even more aggravation to an already highly aggravated motoring public! Idiots!

Thanks in advance here too Ak, you do make exceedingly good caramel latte :)

Morning All, lovely sunny day here again and just fine to do outside jobs before it gets too hot this afternoon. After my holiday I wonder if I will catch up again. It seems that because of weather usually I never ever seem to be on top of the vegetation, still I made a start yesterday and will just have to keep going.

Reading about your driving problems w_y reminds me about my S-I-L who lives down here but travels back to Belgium on a Sunday evening where he works. Two weeks ago he was twenty minutes away from his home up there when the clutch went on the car. He called out the rescue company who arrived after 30 minutes. They put his car on the lorry, then had to drive back into France, nearly an hour, to collect a replacement car. Then of course it was a drive up the auto route that he had been along earlier.

Right time for my coffee, then down to the far field. It looks as if some horrible caterpillar is attacking some of my apple trees, so I will have to spray them with Bordeaux mixture. ;) (It is blue, not red.)

Góðan daginn til allra. Cappuccino, coffee, tea donuts and fruit are on the bar.

Frothy cappuccinos for for al, HH, Leon and W_Y
Coffees for COYH, Frenchie, Kev rob theo and vic-rijrode
    Strong coffee for Sandy
    Milky coffee for Yorkie
    Espresso for SuffolkHorn
Strong black coffees for Bragi Norway and zen
Black coffee half hot half cold and no sugar for Charlie
Tea for BHD jsybarry jerzeypie Lloydinio and BCFCRed
Hot chocolate with marshmallows for BBW
Tea with skimmed milk and no sugar for GG
An exceedingly fluffy caramel latte for Hornette
    Strong sweet tea for NZ

I thought a wine for NZ but then considered a strong cup of sweet tea would steady the nerves more after the local aftershocks.

After last night the Ísland national football team needs a kick in the bottom. Winning 0:2 at half time and then losing 3:2 at the end.
At least KA know when a game finishes. Dávid Disztl scored at 91 mín. to gain a draw with Víkingur Reykjavík. The team is now in 6. seat of twelve.

Good morning all. The weather here is glorious!! However, i have had the first wasp encounter of the year!! They are going to be huge if this one was anything to go by. You know when you are back home when you are woken at 7:50 by the sound of a screaming mother yelling at the sister because she has not washed up like she was asked. Also she is as red as the WFC shorts after walking 23 miles in 8 hours for charity. She says she had sun-cream on but it has had no effect. Oh joy!!

I enjoy the Sharpe films and hope to buy some of the novels, to see how different the original ideas were to how the film makers imagined the stories.

BHD your hornet looks like it has been pumped with a tyre inflater.
