That's terrible...I knew him very well. Always known to me as Zak, he played cricket for a couple of seasons with me at Northwood Town. His shop sold everything and was always open late into the evening. He always greeted me with a smile and I rarely left without at least 15 minutes chatting. He was a very happy family man who should have been with us longer. RIP, Zak.

Morning all - busy start to the day again. Thanks for the coffee AK. Seems over 7.5K have renewed their ST's so far - a great response.

    Morning all

Grey morning down here. I shall be assisting Mrs H to make and ice a 1st birthday cake for her grandson. My job, apart from licking the spoon, appears to be the lettering so I think coffee first...

Morning all, lovely sunny day here, 20C already.

Been into the council depot and collected some more compost. There was an article here about just laying seed potatoes on the ground and covering them with compost. The trials had shown that there was a greater weight of harvested potatoes than using the traditional method. The ones that I put in at Easter are all up, so instead of more earthing up I am conducting my own little experiment with covering them with compost.

Just time for my coffee, thank you ak, then off out to make the most of the fine weather. ;)

Fly to gatwick this evening , for a relative visiting trip (whilst dashing across the country to Shendish) Is anyone else of our numbers going to the end of season do?
Or anyone from this board going to be in Nottingham/manchester during the next week?

Sorry Norway, cannot make Shendish as I spent all my beer money last week-end - big Martin is going though.

Regarding the point on away fans in The Lion last Saturday that was being debated on FB, they got in due to a cock-up. We had been invited to go in for a beer at 09.00 to start the celebration for Little Miss W_Y's 21st but the pub was supposed to be closed and we had to go round the back to get in. Trouble was the doors were open and we were seen and others came in whilst the staff were setting up the bar and the door-men were getting ready - 2 of those who got in early were Boro fans. If the doors has been kept locked, it would not have happend.

The new not-Burrda sponsored football shirt, although she might have to wait a short time.

Can I suggest that one of our Mods unstickies the three sticky threads. Questions for the players has served its purpose to enable Dan to pass these on; the prediction league is not needed till next season - and will need to be revamped anyway and personally the thread I first started as a welcome has passed its sell by date now as we get few newbies so that a sticky thread is hardly needed.

Also for the mods, an abridged version of the suggestion I made here might be worth passing onto the relevant thread at the mod's forum. Personally I think Mick needs to do something: without some off-topic threads over the summer, I can see a few people slipping away, and on the other hand with too many of them I can see other people slipping away. Surely a way of pleasing both is win-win?

I have left the welcome thread because i know from my experience that it is a good first stop on a crazy and confusing board. Also, as it is not my thread i dont want to make the decision.
